Chicks & Speed: Futurism

Just came in the mail right now, and that mail carrier chick is probably never going to come to my house again, as I pretty much emotionally orgasmed.

Listening to “The Stripper” for the first time… MAN.

Today is a good day.

You’ve never heard that before?
Lead Into Gold is great. I hope Paul re-releases it all with bonus material.

Truly one of the greatest albums of all time. That’s one of the albums that really got me into the whole Wax Trax scene.

“Idiot” is probably my favorite LIG track right now.

GOD DAMN.

duh.

The LIG releases are fricken wonderful. I love the mood that LIG creates.
How much did you spend, if you don’t mind sharing? The Age Of Reason is far far cheaper than the Chicks & Speed cd for whatever reason… busquito, Any idea why that is?

I picked up the Idiot on vinyl back in late '89 from my local shop (oddly enough named Wax’n’Facts although it is even older than the original Wax Trax) it had scrawled across the plastic ‘Ministry’ in black marker so I was intrigued. Putting this on for the first time was a real treat, and those 3 songs are still favorites. From the actual album Lunatic/Genius is my favorite.

Snagged it in perfect condition for JUUUUST over twenty bucks.

Worth every fucking penny.

I’m guessing because Age of Reason is an album and Chicks & Speed is technically a single. It might have been made in slightly less quantity. But they’ve both been out of print since 1993, so they could both stand a rerelease (just as Low & Slow needs to be released for the first time).

Chicks and Speed always reminded me of early Laibach. Age of Reason is a great LP, pretty much the poster child for the Wax Trax sound. I was also one of those that had the Idiot 12" vinyl back in the day, played the shit out of it.

Ah, found memories of this album. I first bought it on cassette at Vinyl Fetish in Hollywood. After many plays, the sad day came when the tape finally broke. Eventually I got it again on vinyl and CD. Great album, too bad Lead Into Gold didn’t put out more tracks. Always thought the chick and the bike on the front were kinda cheesy though. [:)]
