Even if you aren’t a football fan check out the Miami vs Duke football game highlight today. I turned the game off with 6 seconds left thinking it was over only to find out what happened this morning. Amazing. Currently the highlight is on espn.com but you can probably just google it.

Haha that was awesome. I love plays like that.
WOW!!! That was incredible!!! I thought the Harlem Globetrotters got subbed in there. They just needed to have the Benny Hill music playing.
I have never been knowledgable about the rules of the game (only understand the basics). I did not know that you could actually bounce the ball off the ground or let it roll a few times and have it still be in play on your own side.
Anyway, great stuff! Looked like a weird rugby match more than an American football game.
The TV crew and direction were really on point too. The cuts back to the Duke coach are brilliant.
Yeah uh? When did that become legit? I never knew you could bounce it, or even let it touch the ground and let the plays roll…then again I too am not knowledged in football heavily
HAHA!! Glad it’s not just me that is confused on that, JLW.
I have followed the Miami Hurricanes my whole life…we get season tix every year…the program was the greatest in the 80s and has had a tough time of it in the last 10 years…that play was incredible…a true rarity that a play like that ever works…
I don’t know the rule 100% but if the ball is thrown backwards or maybe behind the line of scrimmage it isn’t considered a forward pass and the normal passing rules don’t apply. In those cases when they are tossing the ball, if it hits the ground it is the same as if it were fumbled and either team can pick it up and run with it.
This is correct…
officials have been suspended for allowing the play. supposedly missed some calls
That play was the least of the problems for that officiating crew…there were making phantom calls all night against UM…and I don’t say that just because I am a fan…it was fucking absurd…

Well, now the suspensions make more sense. I thought they were just suspended over that one play, which would be absurd because there is illegal blocking and holding on every play that doesnt get called. So, I thought that was bullshit they punish the refs over one play. But the replay guy? Why suspend him? Rewind, replay. rewind, replay. Wanna see it again? Ok rewind replay. Whats to suspend over that?
The replay guy is a casualty of the crew…they always suspend the entire crew…guilt by association…
If you had seen the game you would have laughed at the absurdity of some of their calls…it was outrageous shit…

Thats a horrible policy. Its not like the replay guy can overule the call Made by the officials.
Oh well, whatever.

When a play is under review it is the replay official who is responsible for playing it back and reviewing it. So, yea, he can overrule a call made by the officials.[/reply]
Replay official? I thought it was just a dude in a booth that replayed the film for the officials on the field and then those officials on the field make the call. So, I learned something today. Thanks

LOL. The thought of some dude that just rewinds the tape getting suspended makes me laugh. That would suck if that was all you did and got suspended.[/reply]
Haha, totally. Thats why i thought it was a crappy policy. “So the guy that just rewinds the tape got suspended too? What a bunch of petty little fuckers!” So are all the sports that way or is it just football? It would make sense that they all do that.
Foot ball is fun and I like it.
And so is your mother.
You are a mother too! But you didn’t give two rides.
DJ, I don’t think any of us (I know I don’t) can even remember the names of your last shitty accounts you scurried up after “leaving forever” so you can just use the same existing ones and it makes no difference to us. You don’t need to make new ones every month.
