Chances of Pailhead reunion better than expected

Turns out Ian Mckaye is [url “http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/…_alive_elvis_is.html”]still alive.

got cut off:

but really now, kind of stupid story…so for a day, wikipedia reported a false death and an actual paper had to report on it?

Isn’t this the second time he’s died in recent years, or am I thinking of someone else?

Silly internet.

Saw Fugazi once, 5 or 6 years ago. Amazing concert. Ticket was about 8 dollars with the venue fee tagged on. I have a pretty cool album from '87 that features Ian, I think his brother, and one or two other guys. The name of the band is Embrace, and it has a sort-of Husker Du-meets-Fugazi sound to it. If anyone wants to hear it, I can share it.

I saw them a few years ago in Vermont. About 12 of us drove down from Montreal and we almost gave Ian a stroke because we were causing so much damage on the floor. He kept stopping the song and saying ‘ok guys, you’ve made your point’, ‘ok thats enough’, etc.
Then one of my friends yelled at him to play a Minor Threat song, (12XU as I recall). The look on Ian’s face was priceless.

He was quite funny in American Hardcore too…

Regardless, I’d love a new Pailhead album. Don’t think Ian would take too well to Al’s dictatorship though.

ian mackaye does not need al.a lot of people seem to think pailhead happened because of al’s sorcery or something. much more random. and paul barker and bill rieflin were there to provide some much needed backup. i hate all this crap attributing pailhead to al’s “genius”. not how it happened.

12XU is by Wire originally, it was a cover.

Pink Flag is brilliant record btw.

Well, Pailhead was mostly Rape and Honey leftovers, with some songwriting input from Ian, correct? That’s always been my understanding, anyway. “Ballad” and maybe “No Bunny” sound like the only songs that Ian penned, is that accurate? I’m not discrediting Ian, I just thought most of those songs were already written before they became Pailhead material.

i will refuse most definately was (as published on initials cc as “stick”)

i don’t think it’s LORAH leftovers because LORAH was half leftovers itself

i think it’s probably mind outtakes maybe?
