Carmichaels

Who are these guys? I know it was one of Al’s bands from way back when, but that’s all I know.

Anybody have a little info on them, like who was in the band and what roles did they play, and how much material did the put out, and when were they formed/disbanded.

Any info would be cool.

Per Al, he played keyboards and bass. Also in the band were 2 brothers aged 15 (the singer) and 17 (the guitarist). The drummer was a 35 year old dentist. They only played 2 live shows and cut a few demo tracks.

I really really fuckin like this mp3. damn it’s really not half bad…better than most early Ministry in my opinion (minus the shitty sound quality obviously)

Fuck, I would take a remastered-beyond-belief version of this track over half the songs on Houses of the Mole…

wow.

This sounds amazingly like the Louisville scene circa '87-'90…takes me back. And this singer is supposed to be 15? Really? 'Cause, damn.

Singer sounds a lot like Jim Morrison…

I really like this song as well. It’d be nice to hear more.

What year is it from?
Late,

Surprisingly good song. It even sounds “edgier” in some ways than the Special Affect stuff. That singer does not sound fifteen!

When year was this? Like '77/'78?

How’d you get ahold of this song, Bisquit?
I don’t even recall ever hearing Al reference the Carmichaels by name in any of the earlier interviews etc.

This is from 81 or so. Right around the time Cold Life was being recorded. Afra asked Al directly for the info I gave earlier. Also see the Illinois Entertainer interview on this site from 1982 for a little bit more info.

fucking awesome!!! I love it!!!

Song’s stuck in my head.
DAMMIT!

I really like this song as well. It’d be nice to hear more.

There’s another. You just might get it…

And yes, I love the song, too. Very Joy Division-ish in some parts. Love the bass and guitar work.

Yeah, I’ll probably post the second as a download eventually… once I work through a few other goodies.
