Burn the Priest (aka Lamb of God) cover of Jesus Built My Hotrod

From their new album Legion: XX.

I don’t like this band but they sure picked some very cool bands to cover…

To quote Surgical Meth Machine:

  • “Dude, did you hear the new Lamb Of God?”
  • “Ahahahahahahahahahaaaaa”

[:P]

edit: Now I’ve heard it, and I can safely say there’s no way I’ll ever
again listen to this version when I can just put on the original redline/whiteline version. No redeeming qualities [:)]

They are not.

So they’re back to calling themselves BURN THE PRIEST again?
Make up your fucking minds, Dipshits.

I hate them, if anyone cares.
But I’ve come to begrudgingly respect Randy, the dorky lead dickhead.

Okay, fine, I’ll listen to the song . . .

Just listened to it.

Remarkably ADEQUATE cover.
But it reminds me of when you get a karaoke version of one of your favorite songs with the tracks covered by competent studio players.

It’s good but it’s lost ALL the soul of the original. If someone is gonna do a cover I like to see them give it a new twist and try to put some sort of individual stamp on it.

But this is just . . . whatever.

I’ll say this in its favor. While it has ZERO value for me as a recording (because it just makes me wanna hear the real version instead of this Xbox 360 jibber jabber) . . . I’m sure if I was stuck at a Lamb of God concert and they did this track live I’d love them for it and lose my mind.

But it’s just pointless and meaningless as is.

vocals suck, Not sure if he’s trying to sound bored or if he really is.
band is meh. not horrible not fantastic.
I do find it comedic that they’re doing all the samples as vocals.

I honestly thought they did the sample parts as vocal takes because they were too lazy to search out the original source material, but I guess (according to Randy) it would have cost a lot of money (can anyone confirm this?).

Anyway, here’s Randy talking about the track, and . . . can I add that HE LOOKS AND SOUNDS LIKE MR. VAN DRIESEN (the sissy ass hippie teacher) FROM BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD!!!

Lesbian seagull…

Not a fan of LoG/BtP ('cept “Redneck” solely for a degree of nostalgia) or this cover but I feel bad for the negativity they get anyway. The #KeepRandyinJail thing metalheads were doing during his locked-up-abroad situation was downright dickish and reminds me of the metalheads I saw outright celebrating when Dimebag got killed because it was the “literal death of false metal” or what the fuck ever

I am seeing Lamb Of God tomorrow apparently opening for Slayer. Are they good? I hear they’re good. What should I seek?

Also, Testament is opening. Holy shit! Where’d they dig those guys up from? Nice gig.

The stage-dive death thing was total bullshit, and how Randy handled himself in the midst of it and after is really what earned my respect. I still am not a fan at all of the music, but I really do think he’s a pretty class act and real as it can get.

People that pull that edgelord shit in dancing on someone’s grave are really pathetic. I never liked PAntera. Shit, I downright hated them. Still do. And I think Dimebag is the most overrated guitarist of all time and I find him pretty much unlistenable. But I’m not so lacking of a soul that I would mock the MURDER of someone. Dude was a husband, brother, friend, hero, to many. Whether or not I had a personal kinship with the guy, his death was still very impacting and people’s pain is real. The Internet really brings out the worst in everyone. And those who can’t get a little attention by being attractive, funny, intelligent, or clever, can always deal from the bottom of the deck and just be a low down prick. There’s no honor or glory in that.

I mean they’ve pretty much been around the entire time…

I think homie was being sarcastic about Testament. If not, he’s been keeping a very healthy distance from the metal scene for a million years.

Testament (which I actually enjoy) and Exodus (I’ve kind of hated them ever since that Rob Dukes moron ruined them forever for me) are both bands that I’ve NEVER chosen to see, but end up as support acts on so many major tickets. I’ve seen both 4 or 5 times (opening for Megadeth, Iron Maiden, King Diamond, Anthrax…) just by default, haha.

I hated Rob Dukes at first but gave SHKM a chance and grew to love him. His stage presence was EXCELLENT. When I saw them opening for Megadeth he took a crowd that was standing around doing jack shit during the first song and had the entire floor involved by the end of their set, even friends who don’t usually mosh. I’ve been kind of disinterested in Exodus since they booted him. I like Zetro’s vocals enough but I doubt he could top that shit I saw.

Warms my heart to see people making active use of Frinkiac.

And yer alright, Gunnar.

lol I just had a good giggle… Burn the Priest!? Kinda cringy 14yo came up with that name?

Yeah, I can’t stand Pantera either (thought I was the only one!), but any cunt happy about Dimebag’s death needs a kick in the nuts.

I went to college and lived in Columbus OH for a few years. Been to many metal shows at the Alrosa Villa. Fuck that guy for trying to ruin that scene.

Also: Testament rules.

Other than cemetery gates…I can’t stand them either. Oh yeah…Testament definitely rules!
