Bullshit from fox involving movies

as in fox movie studios (20th century fox). They apparently (just saw it on the news hence no link but i’m sure there’s shit about it on the web) want to start making it so that you can only get the bonus features on dvds if you actually buy them. So say you rent it from netlfix, or blockbuster or whatever you only get the previews and the movie… no commentary, making of stuff, nada…
and people wonder why piracy on the internet is out of control.

Won’t happen, not only for cost reasons but because in the economy we’re in it’s too time-consuming, plus contractual agreements have to be considered…

Too much of a shitstorm. Reminds me of when Divx almost became the successor to video rentals:

The only thing I care about are deleted scenes. And BLOOPERS!

actually, I’m quite fond of all the bonus stuff on DVDs. documentaries, interviews, etc. etc. then again, I’m a film major.

I barely watch the damned things anymore, so I’m pretty much whatever about it.

I used to pick up dvds on the basis of what bonus features they sported but I don’t really mind too much any more. The best recent examples of good bonus features on dvds (region 2) were ‘The Dark Knight’ and ‘Rescue Dawn’.

IMO the best bonuses were on the Fight Club and Cabin Fever DVD’s, the latter being because even if you hated the movie, you’d love the five commentary tracks. They’re a scream. And it’s five bucks too, anywhere.
