Just hooked me up with some nice fat Cds outa his collection.
I’ve been letting him stay at my house for last 8 mos. (The wife is PISSED!) and not charging the guy cause he actually has a house but it’s in another state (Arizona about 2 1/2 hours away) so between paying his mortgage and and having him pay us rent, I wasn’t having it…
PLus we have 2 extra bedrooms and a 2800 SQ. Ft house so there was really no reason to charge him. We have the room and our bills went up 0$$ with him staying there…
Anyway, on to the real meat of this post
SO it looks like He’s going to Germany to work for some alarm company (MC DEAN INC.)
So because he was so greatful we let him stay with out charging him he let me take the run of his CD collection (His collection of the Pogues and shane Macgowan aside)

I feel bad as if I’m ripping him off but he insisted!
I’ve known this guy for damn near 20 years! as a matter of fact my Best friend that died last year (1 year yesterday actually) is the one who introduced us

I just bought this album and I think it’s fucking gold. Really great.
It combines the great metallic clanking and industrial percussive cacophony of the early shit with the more musical songwriting of the later shit without being as soft or subdued.
That’s a pretty good haul of stuff grmpy, I’m sure your friend knows you will appreciate it just like he appreciated you guys for putting him up. That Skinny Puppy Mind LP is cool because Burnt With Water ends on a locked groove repeating " Amen, god lord hear my prayer" infinitely. [:)]

Well I’ve heard most of them at some time or another, just hanging around him back when I was in high school. I’m sure I’ll be familiar with it once I put it on.
Many I grabbed based on what I remember liking (maybe not specifically but album covers and names) and others I grabbed based on band name alone.
This guy turned me onto Laibach originally with the song 2525 from NATO, then he played the rest of the album for me… Been a Laibach fan ever since. He had “The Final countdown” single too but that’s my least favorite song outa the NATO cd, so I left it.
Kinda funny story about the Einstuerzende Neubauten cd Haus Der Luege. I clearly remember when my other buddy (that died last year) found that cd (summer of '92) at our local shitty pawn shop. all 3 of us were there. My dead buddy and the still living buddy (that just gave me the cd) were like in this little huddle whispering to each other(I was off looking at shitty guitars on the wall) and I remember my dead buddy shaking the cd at my still live buddy and getting mad. Then my still live buddy let out this loud ass yell in the pawn shop so obnoxious that the pawn guy made us leave, even though we were the only ones in the shop. my dead buddy threw down three bucks for the cd and my still living buddy was doing the happy dance all the way out of the shop (kinda looks like the “I gotta pee” dance) The yell and the dance were both WAAAAY out of character for my still living buddy. when we finally got out of the shop I was like What fuck man? what are you dancing and screaming like a fucking little girl for? and my still living buddy just rolled his and was like don’t worry about it, This cd isn’t for you. So then naturally I was like, “What is it? put it on! how do you hear of these fucked up crazy ass bands? How do you even know how pronounce that fucked band name?” So then my dead buddy was like, “cause I can read!” and then he slowly and phoenetically sounded out the name like I was 5 or something, just busting my balls!
so cut to 17 years later, it’s the 1 year anniversary of our friends death (to the day!) my buddy pulls out his cd collection, I come upon this cd and I let out this big ass yell in his house and start doing the happy dance and he just laughed cause he knew exactly what I was referencing [;)]

I know my girlfriend would be pissed if one of my pals stayed that long. I mean a few weeks is alright…but 8 months to me just seems like taking advantage of someones kindness. That is the reason your wife was “pissed” I believe.

Yeah probably. He really just slept here though. It wasn’t like he was chillin here all day fuckin shit up. Not a doubt in my mind that he would do the same thing for us if the roles were reversed. Even if he didn’t have the space.

I learned earlier in life to not mix $$ and friends and no amount of $$ is worth the friendship I have with Zieg, so I never want to put myself in a position where some little bit of $$ takes precedent over my friends. (I don’t have many of them but the ones i do have are solid!) Which is why I wouldn’t charge him to sleep here. Like I said before it’s not like we didn’t easily have the space.

Those few are some fine albums. Not great per se…but not too shabby.
I put this on this morning and I remembered it at once because I heard Last rights a little after I had heard this and thought that Skinny Puppy had poorly ripped this sound off. Then my buddy told me Last Rights came first! So I think Front made Last rights better. fucked up creepy noises but with kick ass medleys running throught it where as Last rights is more fucked up scary noises. I couldn’t remember which was the better offering, which is why Last Rights is in my collection and this was not. Although I knew I had chosen poorly once I put sp on. but never bothered to rectify the situation and eventually just forgot about it all together
