Buck Satan album leaked

i thought it would be him actually SINGING.

I thought that too, but gave up any hope of that when he described the sound early on as “industrial western”

jan 17th idiots…

What happens on January 17th? And don’t call me an idiot.

Yeah you got me…what’s the 17th? the release date? The release date of WHAT? The Buck Satan record, which anyone who gives a shit would’ve bought or illegally downloaded?

Oh yeah. That date. Okay. Sorry [:(]

I suppose it’s the release date if you want to buy it in a store, but like he said, we’ve all already either bought it through 13th Planet or gotten it some other way.

So, yeah. Whatever.

I’ll buy it in the store if I see it.

I’ll buy it in the store if I see it.

You’ll probably have to check Amoeba on that one.

I think Amoeba is pretty much the only record store around anymore.

I live up in the bay area and we got a store called Rasputin that’s essentially the same as Amoeba except you can find movies here too. Rasputin is a wider chain. I’ve only been to 4 of them and I can tell you that the one in SF is the weakest, although I did find a an original print of NIN’s Broken for pretty cheap and it’s the only place I’ve ever seen Pig’s Sinsation. Concord (near where I live) and Berkeley are pretty sweet though. So that’s just a headsup if you ever come out here.

Right on! I remember Rasputin. Wasn’t there also one called Aaron’s as well (I can’t remember what was in Berkely and what was in SF, though).

I used to go all the time to a shop down in Huntington Beach called VINYL SOLUTION. When I was down that way a few months ago I stopped in and their CD section which used to be all over the store was now about 3 feet wide. Lame.

I’ve never heard of Aaron’s but I imagine it’s somewhere in SF. Amoeba and Rasputin are a block away from each other in Berkeley. I just tend to be disappointed with the prices in the Metal section at every Amoeba. I’ve had the habit of paying full price for crap Black Metal over the years so buying Metal from Amoeba isn’t really worth it.

But back to actual record stores there’s a cool little place in SF on Haight called Recycled Records. Found YGSOAB there for $8.

Actually Rasputin has been around since the 70’s and two former employees of Rasputin are actually the guys that started Amoeba.

The Hollywood Amoeba is sweet!!! They have movies there too, VHS, Laserdisc, DVD, Blu ray, and a small collection of PS3, xbox, and Wii games.

The hollywood Amoeba is a whole freakin’ city block

and check out the inside photos [url http://www.amoeba.com/store-locations/index.html#hollywood]here.

I’ve read the Berkeley store used to be a Bowling alley. My Wife has been to the Frisco Amoeba but I don’t think she knew about Rasputin so needless to say she didn’t go.

There was a Recycled Records in Davis when I was in school (94-97). The place was awesome. They had printouts of their inventory put in these binders and there were like 10 listening stations circling the clerks like it was a bar or something. And you could listen to everything before you decided to buy it.

I’d spend hours flipping through the listings and choosing what to listen to. They also had a kickass clearance area where CD’s would be like a buck or two.

??!!??!!??Wha???

I don’t think I’ve ever paid more than 6-8 bucks for any CD at Amoeba, unless it’s been some kinda special edition or something… What kinda black metal cds are you buying?? Shit that comes with real skull fragments from the Mayhem guy, dead?

Sounds a lot cooler than the one in a SF. SF is only records and tapes.

Dude go look at the prices for any Metal at Amoeba and you’ll see what I mean. I actually paid $15.99 (before tax) for Darkthrone’s Panzerfaust which I can honestly say is their WORST album, although this was before the album was easier to find i.e. reissued on Peaceville with bonus material. I also payed about the same for Immortal’s Blizzard Beasts and that certainly wasn’t worth it at all. I also payed a bunch for Ulver’s last album War Of The Roses and that was a huge letdown. I would’ve been better off just downloading that one off of iTunes. But I bought all these cd’s bc I was either too into BM or just bc I am/once was a diehard fan.

But every Amoeba I’ve been to has high prices for Metal. But rock is no more than $5.99 in Berkely. Hell I found the 10" vinyl of Psalm 69 last time I was there but the record itself wasn’t in the best condition.

well I specifically remember seeing the mayhem boot with the suicide picture of dead as the cover for 8.99. I remember pointing it out to my wife telling her that legend has it that that is a real photo of the singer after he killed himself. Almost bought it just for the sheer novelty of it.

Admittedly, I don’t spend any real time in that section, so I don’t know if that price was indicative of all of the black metal prices, but if I remember ill check it out the next time I go. which should be sometime next month.

Most of the regular thrash and old school metal (Megadeth, Judas Priest, Danzig, Maiden, Slayer, Black Sabbath, etc.) will be found in the massive USED Rock/Pop section and there are plenty of good deals there as there is ample supply of various used copies of stuff.

But over on the side of the store are the sections for Industrial/Gothic/Experimental and BlackMetal/ Extreme Metal or something. It seems to be almost all NEW copies in this section and a lot of it is priced kind of high, I think, because it’s more limited in their production runs or they are imported.

I rarely buy anything new from Amoeba but I’ve been pleased with the pricing on everything (new and used) I’ve ever purchased there.

APOP RECORDS

http://www.apoprecords.com/

the only record store worth a shit in my book. I went in some of the “cool” record stores in Chicago, they couldn’t hold a candle to this place, and there’s certainly nothing even close here in St. Louis, even the “world famous” Vintage Vinyl. I know I’ve plugged it before. Check out their inventory, it’s crazy deep, full of wonderous oddities, you can get any of it mail order, and Tiffany (the owner) knows her shit and is a really rad chica. Don’t sleep on it, for reals.

but is she cute?
