It’s lo fi, easy to confuse 80s lo fi for sounding outdated. Godflesh is basically guitar and a drum machine, that’s not really a formula for sounding outdated.

This, on the other hand, relies on those elements, but I don’t think would ever get confused for anything but a late-70s jam (a video is on that page, natch):
