This one hits close to home. I’m a huge fan of bombastic, pompous, fall-on-your-face-with-your-ambitions arena/concept-album rock, and Meat Loaf was the king of that. Think I’ll spin “Bat Out Of Hell” later.
Louie Anderson, too. As a representative of the fat funny community, we’re in hiding, and we’re not coming out until the other shoe drops.
I was never a fan of the loaf, but I know many were so my heart goes out to them.
Loui anderson was funny I think he was out of the light for about a decade though wasn’t he?
Anyway, they will be missed.
I’m a little conflicted on Meat Loaf’s legacy – he was a brilliant musician with an anti-vaxxer stance who died of complications from COVID; I usually laugh when that happens but I guess when it hits closer to home it seems less funny.
Louis Anderson’s career was taking off again, actually – he played a transvestite on “Baskets” (?), and got a lot of critical applause for it. I think he was even nominated for a few awards as a result.
I didnt know he was an antivaxxer, welp, left fringe, right fringe they get what they get. Hes probably wishing he wasnt so stupid right about now except that he cant do that cause hes dead. Great choice meat loaf!
He actually just played a woman on Baskets…he was Zach Galifinakis characters mom…he was very funny on it…highly recommend show if you haven’t seen it…
