I’ve got it. I think there was a little discussion about it when it was first released.
Certainly you should get it if you know you’re a fan of the Blackouts - if you’re just curious, you may want to download a few tracks first. I found I wasn’t impressed.
Lots of bands need a visionary to come in and allow them to reach their full potential, and for Rieflin and the Barkers that visionary was Al Jourgenson. The music they were making before he showed up was ok, but ultimately forgettable, imo.
Yeah, it came out late 2004 or so. Great release. It got little publicity because it’s on K Records, which is this little indie label that’s been out for ages. They rarely advertise.
It may have been released due to bisquitodoom. I remember him talking about it.
Not sure if I’m responsible in part or not, but I did offer my live Blackouts show to 3 of the 4 members and actually got a copy to 2. Definitely check out History In Reverse, if for no other reason, then try it because Al produced 3 tracks.
I read in that amazon link that the first three (?) tracks were “left-overs” from the wax-trax sessions, would al have produced them as well?
I listened to my blackouts vinyl - lost souls club - once or twice… um, I think I ripped it to my hard-drive when I had an automatic turntable. It’s slightly warped, so it won’t play what so-ever on my manual one. gets to the warp and the needle goes flying, lol. if I weigh it down so it doesn’t do that, you can hear the needle grinding on the vinyl… not good. ’
Also whats the dealio with the idiot video? was it ever aired or just made?
