thanks for the hook up.
it’s so wierd seeing Bill playing with Peter Buck. I am an OLD REM fan (pre GREEN). there was some cool things happening with them back then.
p.s. - the new Pearl Jam is pretty good. they seem to be getting back to playing straight rock and roll again.
Toe Jam is good…Matt from soundgarden adds a solid feel to the new CD.
kinda poopy. revolting cocks and ministry is too lame for reiflin’s taste, and REM shite isnt? blech, for shame wee willy reefer, for shame. at least join cool bands like connelly did with damage manual.
ditto orbasm…
Yawn.
More ambient masturbation. File with “Pink Anvil”.

Yeah I guess you can’t stomach the finer things in life. Sorry man.
PS Pink Anvil is nowehere near as meandering or ambient or “masturbatory” as this Slow Music shit is. Nonetheless I do enjoy this Slow Music stuff quite a bit.
Then again I outgrew the idea that music had to have “a point” and a standard song structure a while ago…
I’m a big fan of Bill’s, so I’ll have to check this out. I never heard any of his work with REM, though I remember I about had a heart attack when I heard that! This new project seems really interesting; the second clip reminds me a bit of good, old Pink Floyd. I’m really into the whole meandering, unstructured stuff.
For example, I’ve really been digging on the new Mono album, You Are There. Anyone into Akira Yamaoka’s style of “noise” would love it…there’s still a melody buried in there somewhere, but it will really catch you off your guard!

Hey, I’ve got plenty of ambient and experimental music in my collection. I’ve djed the stuff in clubs and on the radio. Some of it can evoke a deep emotional response in the listener that can’t always be achieved with traditional song structure.
But a lot - hell, most - of this stuff is totally self indulgent. The musician is dicking around and calling it “Art”.
