I believe in evolution. I think given the time, any animal can eventually evolve into an intelligent species.
I might be alone on this, but I just don’t believe that we came from the chimps or cavemen. I mean sure millions ago humans were probably apes and shit at some point. I just never bought it, even when I was a youngster in school learning this stuff. I mean there’s different species of insects, cats, birds but they didn’t evolve from one another, but from one original species. I think the cavemen findings are offshoots and that we’re related to them, but can’t buy into the fact that we evolved from them.

I don’t think I agree with this. I don’t think all animals have the capacity for intelligence. they’re at the end of the evolutionary scale meaning the gene pool has become so specific there isn’t really any more room for variation

you just agreed and disagreed with evolution in these 2 sentences. if you think millions of years ago we were apes then how do you not think we came from apes?
I think we came from several different types of apes/gorillas/monkeys whatever the correct animal is.
I mean there’s different species of insects, cats, birds but they didn’t evolve from one another, but from one original species.
why not? we all carry crazy DNA in our genes somebody somewhere is bound to someday create something odd that may survive that goes on too flourish and take the species in a new direction.
I think the cavemen findings are offshoots and that we’re related to them, but can’t buy into the fact that we evolved from them.
well if we are related to them that would mean we have a common ancestor and we evolved differently from that common ancestor.
Ahhh I sound nuts, I know.
not at all, I think about weird shit all the time, but it’s usually about space and alien life and planets and shit.
There you have it in a nutshell. They’re responsible for everything from evolution to the pyramids to John Travolta to the moon landing.
Stupid aliens.
And yea man. Grumps! I’m just not too well versed on the subject of evolution.
Definitely gonna read up on it. I’m just always thinking about life and ancient Earth and like youz even aliens! Crazy shit like that. The other day I was wondering if other human like species existed on other worlds. Or if every alien looks completely different. Man, I think I was born hundreds of years too early. Gimme that alien pussy!!! xD

Not a whole lot to “study”, just pay attention to the “niches” and the “gene pools” and that’s pretty much all of it right there.

lol
I’m losing my faith in Aliens, not that they exist but that we’ll ever meet them because distance really is too much of an obstacle and can’t be conquered. The only way is if a species created a ship kinda like the enterprise that can sustain a set population indefinitely, you know artificial food, perhaps perpetual motion for energy but having eons and millions of generations pass before making it to the nearest star… then you figure there are literally trillions of Galaxies with trillions of Stars contained within those galaxies… Aliens… Not in my lifetime. [:(]
Late,

Yea not in our life time at all. At least as far as intelligent life goes. If we’re lucky, we might discover aquatic life on one of Jupitor’s moons or something. Or maybe some kind of plant life.
I think first contact will probably be with alien probes, or some kind of machine. Like what we’re doing on Mars. Sending robots.
I might be alone on this, but I just don’t believe that we came from the chimps or cavemen.
we didn’t, sort of. with regards to monkeys and apes we had a common ancestor at one point. homo sapien developed on one branch and mondern primates the other(s). there will be one line of “cavemen” that we descended from (who themselves evolved from some previous ape thing - forgive me, it’s been a long time since i studied any of this), but all the others were evolutionary deadends which died out (or became cats and dogs!). it’s like a tree, isn’t it. there’s one root from which everything sprouts from. some branches are linked, but many are not, but they all are attached to the main root.
Evolution is fascinating. Every living thing on this planet is related through a common ancestor because everything has DNA. The mitochondria inside every cell of your body has a entirely different genome (different DNA) than the rest of the cell, more similar to bacterial DNA (multiple copies of one circular chromosome) than “human” DNA you find in the cell nucleus (22 pairs of autosomes and 1 pair of sex chromosomes), which supports the theory that mitchondria was a symbiotic prokaryote that got absorbed into another single celled organism that evolved down to us. So not only do we have large colonies of many different species of bacteria living in different areas of our bodies, they are basically INSIDE every cell too. Weird, huh?
And birds are dinosaurs. Giant ground sloths were a thing. Trilobites, for fuck’s sake! Therapsids! Why does everybody wanna flip out on the monkey/human thing? Evolution is eminently demonstrable, what makes us any different?
