Foetus - Hide
How To Destroy Angels - Self Titled
Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti - Before Today
Brian Eno - Small Craft On A Milk Sea
Swans - My Father WIll Guide Me Up A Rope To Heaven
Burzum - Belus
Massive Attack - Heligoland
Autechre - Oversteps
Sun City Girls - Funeral Mariachi
Death In June - Peaceful Snow
Those were all favorites for me. That Ariel Pink album is fast becoming one of my all time most listened to albums. I absolutely worship at its feet.
And as for Heligoland, it has rekindled my love for Massive Attack. I’ve bought in on vinyl and it looks simply stunning. Musically it’s difficult but the reward is well worth it.
Did kind of like the new Electric Wizard as well. I’ve never seen much love for them on this board.
I agree, Gunnar. Black Candy is a fun one to me. I like that Guitar squeal. Lyrics are silly but they are still fun to sing! this album is certainly the weaker of the first four but still miles ahead 5 through however many it took to get to this album. Not really shocked that many here would put it down. compare it to black acid evil though and you can really see the difference. I think this album closely resembles the sound and the feel of Danzig S/T
Late,

I was religiously convinced that there was only one workable formula for Danzig, and that was Christ + Biscuits + Eerie + Glenn.
I make no bones about it . . . I HATE Tommy Victor. Never liked his style, never liked him. There’s a few parts where I feel the Victorness (yeah, I’m talking about the “Revengeful”) ruins a song or two on this new album, but for the most part I can even put that bias aside.
It took me a while to recall how “Black Candy” goes, but yeah, that’s a good track too.
There’s a couple forgettable songs on the album, but the only one that I really dislike is “The Revengeful” (Up yours, Tommy Victor!!!.

They don’t get much love on any boards! HAHAHAHA
Electric Wizard rule…even if they are dirty stoned hippies.
there’s really only 3 that I can think of off the top of my head:
Meat Beat Manifesto- Answers Come in Dreams (Scorn fans will love this one)
Dead Voices on Air- From Afar All Stars Spark With Glee (one of Mark’s best imo )
Legendary Pink Dots- Seconds Late to the Brighton Line
then again, I’ve hardly gotten around to buying music this year. there’s a few things I haven’t gotten yet and sadly probably never will, but best reissue would be the Cure’s 3 disc Disintigration and one album I was not greatly impressed with was the new Goldfrapp.
Washed Out - Life of Leisure
Eskmo - Eskmo
Maximum Balloon - Maximum Balloon
Deerhunter - Halcyon Digest
Underworld - Barking
LCD Soundsystem - This Is Happening
Gorillaz - Plastic Beach
I’ve recently been really enjoying “Illumination” by Miami Horror and the remix album that accompanies it. A nice throw back sound… yet modern.
Deerhunter - Halcyon Digest
Excellent avatar btw…
I checked out this Deerhunter (I had no idea who they were) and I’m mildly impressed. Might be a new find for me in '11.
Gorillaz - Plastic Beach
Although I’m not a fan - I can stomach some of the first album - I really, really, really hated what I’ve heard of this so far.
It’s awful.
Oh c’mon man! Not even Rhinestone Eyes? Empire Ants is a killer!
Yeah I think the new Gorillaz is pretty great. I listened the hell out of it when it came out.

Deerhunter’s Halcyon Digest takes at least 3 or 4 listens before you realise how incredible it is…a truly amazing record.
Also if you like Ariel Pink Peligro you need to check out Sore Eros…their two records are brilliant. The main songwriter for Sore Eros plays with Ariel Pink now and again.

Well I’ve been REALLY thrashing the new Sore Eros album “Know Touching” lately…LOVE it to bits and it’s just in time for my best of for 2010.

You’ve been thrashing the disc? Does it still play even?
What did you, hump it? Insert it into your butthole?
Probably the latter.
The new Melvins hasn’t had much praise.
Interesting.

Oh yeah I forgot about that one…there’s some great stuff on it but I haven’t listened to it for aaaaaaaaaaages to be honest. Melvins need to get rid of Big Business and be a three peice again.
