Was hoping to hear Connelly on vox, it would have been more interesting. It’s not very good, but they’re probably just screwing around with this demo. Their Day of the Lords cover is better.
Hm, interesting. I’m trying to figure out what i think about this. i like hearing the song to compare it to the original, i hear more of the laughing sample that i had in the past - which is fun. to have chris “in the band” and NOT have him sing this is something that i suppose is good because it’s different, but at the same time, i hear other elements that sound like the original. again, i guess i’m sort of not sure what to think.
Yeah, I keep forgetting about this project it’s been so long.
I think this whole trend of talking up a project waaaay before it’s even remotely close to ready for release is annoying. I also think it hurts the band in the long run. The band ends up becoming a running joke (Primitive Race), people can’t take them seriously, and that can’t help in the long run. Get the album done and ready and THEN make the website and start talking it up.
It’s the equivalent of websites that have links that say “Coming Soon!” when you click on them. And then, 5 years later… “Coming Soon!” (The KMFDM website has some ancient “Coming Soon” sections… Truly fantastic web design… over a decade of conceptual continuity indeed!)

In agreement with all this.
I think one of the worst offenders in this area is the black metal genre. I still remember all kinds of these “bands” popping up when MySpace still stalked the earth. None of them ever apparently recorded a note, but they would already have a painstakingly crafted logo made, and had already done the requisite “holding two invisible orbs of immense weight in a snow-capped forest” photo shoot, and of course had put lots of time into writing hilarious “FUKK OFF TO ALL FALSES” manifestoes.
