beavis and butthead return

Good idea? bad idea?
I understand that they’re going to be critquing silly reality shows like the oc or the hills and this is mtv’s way of re introducing the music video back to the station and decreasing those types of reality shows

I’m excited.

I’m excited.

Me too, although I am cautious in that I hope the humor still will appeal to me, never really was a fan of king of the hill just had it on while going to sleep. Extract was kinda weak. I hope judge hasn’t lost what made him funny… office space and beavis and butthead being his finest moments… with idiocracy trailing in 3rd.

I’ve yet to see Judge fail . . . though there was some attempt that I never even saw as it burned up on launch – I’m trying to remember the name of it, “American Family” or something.

What is Judge’s involvement in the new version?

As for “Extract”, I REALLY love it a lot. I work for a small business and have a close relationship with the owner/President and I can tell you that his portrayal of the factory and the personalities therein are so wickedly spot on that it’s almost painful.

“Office Space” is unbeatable, and “Idiocracy” is good, but I would rank “Extract” above “Idiocracy”.

I’ve not watched them in a while, but I’ve bought most, if not all, of the DVD releases of the B&B collections. I guess I need to buy “Extract” now that I think about it, as it’s the only omission from my collection.

I know the one your talking about, it had that stupid teacher named woodstock with the annoying voice. It made it 2 episodes and was cancelled, it was terrible

Rumor has it he’s voicing the characters and writing some as well. Also they’re keeping the same crappy animation and everything!

I went into it it expecting too much. that always happens when I’m really looking forward to a flick I’m usually disappointed… not judges fault… was wanting affleck to be funnier though. That guy is hilarious! You should hear him on the kevin smith commentary tracks he’s almost funnier than the flicks themselves!

Problem with idiocracy is its too short and I feel they missed a lot of gags they could’ve played with

I’ve picked up the mike judge collection in the gold box that comes with the videos that were originally aired. Apparently that’s pretty rare in that those videos were way expensive to re license

Send me a pic of the ones you’re talking about. I have the Time Life Collection and the “Mike Judge” collections (I can’t remember if I bought all of them or just the first couple).

If you’re referring to the ORIGINAL cartoons where Beavis plays with cigarrette lighters and yells “FIRE FIRE” all the time . . . that wasn’t ever (that I know of) released on any authorized product. Some have made bootlegs of the stuff, but I really would love to have all those super early cartoons on a legitimate collection.

We’ll certainly be speaking more on this topic when these new cartoons air! All the best, Dude!

I’m pretty sure those cartoons are available on the liquid television collections.

No rush, Dude! Whenever. Now I’m curious enough to go see which ones I have.

it took forever for my phone to send the pics to my email account but here they are.

Yeah, I got those (though you might have a different version of the movie than I do — what special features come on that?).

Here’s mine . . .

nothin’. same movie. the mike judge collection has every video they ever critiqued though. Apparently the other collections don’t have the videos. unfortunately all of the videos are on a different disc and the main discs just have the stories. do those time life videos have the videos embedded in the stories?

The Time Life ones, as I recall, have the videos and cartoons formatted as originally aired (together, as part of the episode), but only SOME of the discs have them. I’m not totally certain on this matter and will have to check my discs when I get home tonight.

When the “Mike Judge Collection” came out, some B&B fanatics were actually up in arms as there are some minor changes here and there (words taken out or changed, etc.). As such, the Time Life ones were fetching a pretty penny on Ebay.

Are you sure they have “every” video? That doesn’t sound likely…it would be a fortune to license that stuff. I think those sets have like 10-15 videos they make fun of per disc and that’s it. They’ve made fun of well over 300 artists.

You are both also missing The History Of Beavis & Butt-Head put out by MTV and Paramount in 2002. It was immediately recalled, because Judge didn’t get final cut on shorts selection. Those are rare because they are out of print, and plus they feature most of the old episodes (mostly crappy, IMO). So, that’s the only holy grail so to speak without having to resort to crappy half-assed video dubs.

Speaking of not-so-crappy video dubs, however, there are two torrents on Demonoid featuring many, not all, of the music video segments in a row, taken from Comedy Central, MTV2, VH1, etc. Very good quality, should be about 3 gigs each - search for the word “KingTurd”

And that Bieber kid I guarantee doesn’t get the humor of that show, not that it was ever an intellectual comedy in the first place, but…I bet he still doesn’t get it.

But I’ll end that post now, otherwise I sound like every other jackoff that makes a comment on an old rock and roll video on YouTube.

That would be parts of Vols. 1 and 2, yes. The most brutal change to me is in the ‘1-900-BEAVIS’ episode, when they call a sex line. Butt-Head says, “Hey Beavis, I think I just…innoculated.”

Paramount cut that. They suck.

Yeah, I just read that today on Wiki. I’d love to have it, but I’m not gonna spend a thousand bucks on a couple cartoons . . . huh huh huh.

I wonder if anyone has posted those “Un-Authorized” rarities online anywhere.

Mostly I just want the old ones, though, where Beavis smokes and plays with cigarette lighters.

Not all are as aired. There’s a part cut out of the halloween episode. When they’re trying to decide what costumes to wear the part that got cut was Beavis saying he was gonna go as a wuss and was wearing a Winger shirt and singing the chorus to Seventeen, then Butthead smacks him

HAHHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Sounds like a great scene! I wish they’d have left it in.

I’m watching some cartoons tonight!

Are you sure they have “every” video?

You’re right its missing a ton. I remember there being a lot more vids but I just looked at the video list and there’s maybe 15 videos per collection! :(.so those time life vids are the closest to complete than anything else out there?

You are both also missing The History Of Beavis & Butt-Head put out by MTV and Paramount in 2002.

How much different is it from what’s already been put out there? How many actually got out?
I remember that “going as a wuss” line from back in the day. I hadn’t thought about it in years though… can’t believe they deleted it. It seems so tame. You know I’m thinking that maybe the licensing thing might be why mtv stopped playing videos period! Maybe their license expired and they were too cheap to renew it! So it’s crappy “reality” shows for the next 15 years.

There’s only a few videos on the Time Life set. Most of the discs are JUST the cartoons.
