Aus pt 2, tickemaster suxx! OT

Just wanted to vent for a moment. Ok. Tool are touring here 29th Jan, tickets went on sale at 9am, so I was up, calling the number from before then for phone sales, as the website was stuffed due to too much traffic. So the number was not answering before 9, as soon as it opened it was engaged. so I sat there hitting re-dial for 45 minutes… by the time it answered at 9.45, tickets were sold out, I was trying the site the whole time too. I got off the phone, and, surprise surprise, there was no ticket limit, and tickets were on ebay within minutes of sale, selling for 3x the face value. Talk about frustrating. A friend of mine however did manage to get through on the site and double booked (due to site errors) and got about a dozen lawn tickets (at this venue, seats in front of the stage, standing room at the back) so I got one from him. Otherwise I would have been paying a hefty mark-up. But thats just ridiculous, scalpers suck ass.

Part 2. I also bought on the same day some pre-sale RHCP tickets, I think about 1000 were let out, the site got me two seats together (same venue) then the site went down again and I lost my ticket order. So went looking again, and no more 2 seats together. Just split ones. So looks like I wont be sitting with my partner for this one. Will be 7 rows back from her. Unless we can get two together and sell these ones… far out, I dont know. Why is it so hard to see a band in Australia. I know, both of these bands are massive, but its just ridiculous that ticktmaster dont have the capacity to take a lot of hits, I mean, that morning, they told me they put up 3 big events, thats why they got flooded. It’s crap. Upgrade the site or something, so at least internet orders can be done properly without me having to get RSI from redialling the number or hitting refresh so much just to be told that they sold out within 45min of going on sale.

Ahhh… well… I still got tickets to both, hopefully can trade those RHCP for two together, or something, cuz yeh… ah, I was just in such a bad mood yesterday morning, had to share. AND now it sounds like ministry have cancelled Australia AGAIN.

Well, we’ll see. Oh and Kudos to the people on ebay bidding tool tickets up into the thousands so that they cant be sold. Although so many will, hopefully the scalper scum will be inconvenienced at least a little.

That’s what you pay those extortionate “convenience” and “service” fees for – the “convenience” of getting ripped off and frustrated, and for getting “serviced” the way newbies do in prison…

getting tickets to concerts is becoming a hokey business. all the pre-sale shit (w membership to band, and radio station membership.). its becoming a pain in the ass to just go see a show nowadays. here in Atlanta there are businesses that all they do is turn over tickets - they always have front row and tickets are outrageously priced - there’s some insider shit going on that’s for sure.

i got my RHCP tickets for here in ATL. mofo sold out in 15 mins.

15min! Wow. It’s just crazy… I can see thats why some bands have the fan-club pre-sales to avoid scalpers and what-not. But I have seen tix on ebay already that have either been pre-bought thru the fan club or won in a comp… and why would you enter the comp unlEss u wanted to see the band, oh, thats right, to sell the tickets on ebay to actual fans for a truckload of $$. Whats the cost of a membership when ur going to make all that back and more.
Eh, it just annoys me.

The reason it “sold out” so fast was the tickets went on sale on a Sat, yet two radio stations had pre-sales through ticket master on Friday. so by the time the tickets went onsale to the public most of them were gone.

Don’t worry TOOL will be on the Big Day Out.
