Ask JKB something

Hello all, just popping in to say that I’ll be interviewing JKB in the beginning of August and if there is anything that you’d like me to ask him, please post it in this thread.

Obviously I can’t promise using any of these questions but I’ll try.

Which of his many projects does he most enjoy working on?

Justin is in my opinion one of the best interviewees in the field of music so it should be very rewarding to interview him. There was an interview conducted about 2 or 3 years ago with him by a woman (think she was German or it was for a German magazine) and it was superb (probably still on youtube or vimeo somewhere, was posted here as well I think)

One question might be: Is there a sort of balancing mechanism in the sequence of your work, specifically more recently? What I mean by this is that there is a discernible range of harshness to lightness across the spectrum of your various acts; when you finish on a harsh project (JK Flesh for example) do you find yourself attracted more to a lighter project afterward (like jesu). If there could be such a balancing system in play but you’re not consciously driven by it, what is your opinion on the idea nonetheless?

I’ll probably be back with more Qs later.

Thanks, Jupitreas.

Maybe its just peligro and the other australians but it seems like that the hardcore fan base does not like silver. What are his feelings towards silver should he have released that pale sketches and why are we not perfect under a different name since those 3 albums are more poppy than the rest of his catalogue?

I love Silver. And I know for a fact that Olsen loves the hell out of it too.

I would cosy up to Justin at the bar, put my arm around and slur:

So, Justin ol’ boy…how’s about this new Godflesh album…

If I had the time I’d go back through yer posts and find where you’re all pissed off over the poppy turn JKB has taken starting with [strike]Silver[/strike] and continuing with pale sketches…

Of course it’s going to be ''similar". This is Jesu we’re talking about. You don’t actually expect the guy to…dare I say it…branch out a bit, do you?

When it’s Jesu it’s a safe bet you know what’s going to be served.

“Der derr…der derr…(twinkly keyboard loop)…der derr…der…derrrrrr…(twinkly keyboard loop)…der derr…(insert lyric about being alone / feeling helpless)…der derrrr…”

Oh Justin.

Broadrick’s churning out material now at a rate of knots and the quality is suffering dramatically. He’s been going steadily downhill since Silver - his last really strong offering.

I thought Ascension was pretty awesome… I’d ask about Godflesh though. Isn’t there supposed to be a new album coming along sooner or later?

Has he ever said if Greymachine was finished? That’s actually my favourite of his various projects.

What’s the future for Pale Sketcher?

Please ask if he has ever had anal sex with a man.

Please ask if he has ever had anal sex with a man…

…and if he’d be willing to shove his erect penis into Void’s anal cavity, or vice versa.

This.

There has been a new Greymachine album in the pipeline for ages.

Dominick Fernow (from the noise act Prurient) is now an unofficial “member” of the band.

The album is said to have something of a “dirty, crusty black metal feel to it” apparently.

It will probably be ages before it is released though. Took forever for the first one to come out. I heard about it years befores it was finally released.

Oh and yeah. I TOTALLY dig Silver btw.
