About 8 years ago Stan Ridgway (who quit Wall of Voodoo in 1984) pulled together a band of scabs and was playing at the OC Fair as WALL OF VOODOO with NONE of the other members of the band. Bruce (original bassplayer and brother to original guitarist/founder Marc Moreland) was tipped off (gee, I wonder who would’ve told him such a thing, hahaha!!) who then rallied the other guys (Stan had neither asked nor notified ANYONE from the band of what he was doing) and they threw some injunction or something at him to halt usage of the name.
Well, Stan and his band of buttplugs carried on and performed the show as STAN RIDGWAY’S HALLOWEEN OF VOODOO. What the eff??? What a pile of dookage, HAHAHA!

Fucked up that Rozz Williams couldn’t get the rights to the name and he’s the founder. If this happened in Norway he would’ve won. As some of you may know this happened with the Black Metal band Gorgoroth. Gaahl (vox) and King (bass) had a falling out with guitarist/founder Infernus. They decided to try and legally take the name cuz Infernus hadn’t contributed anything to the previous 2 albums they had put out before the split. However, the court sided with Infernus cuz he’s the founder. I swear Norway has the coolest legal system. You can burn a church and only get 2 years. I’ve also heard they allow you to have a computer in your cell.
