Apparently I'd like advice on picking up the WS LP

So, I was living the dream, browsing the used media store before I went to see Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. In my milling about I came across With Sympathy, the 9 song version, on vinyl. Used, obviously, at $20. My question is: is that a reasonable price? I figure a certain Ministry collector could appraise.

I bought it for about half that, maybe less. Not sure on the condition of the vinyl.

20 is a good deal if its the CD vinyl keep shopping brother you can find it for under 10.

Thanks, guys. There’s not a whole lot of used media stores where I am, but I’ll keep looking to my options. I figure that With Sympathy is not really a hot commodity, since it’s either reviled or forgotten by…pretty much everyone who doesn’t post here.

If it’s in good shape, I’d say pick it up. USPS shipping prices have gone up, plus you can get the record the same day. That’s what I love about record stores. If it’s a mom and pop store that you enjoy going to, give them a few extra dollars to help them stay in business

I agree with this.

  1. Support the independent record shops. They are a dying and endangered breed.

  2. Instant gratification v. waiting for something to arrive in the mail.

  3. You’ll only end up paying a few bucks extra at the most and you don’t have to worry about some ebay drama (damaged goods, failure to ship, etc.).

All of this is true…although I must say, that Amazon prime shipping thing is very enticing and I use it quite a bit…free 2-day shipping is hard to turn down…

That being said,I still get out and support the mom and pop’s as often as possible…but if you think indie’s are scarce in other cities well Miami is especially bad…there is still one place called Yesterday&Today that I’ve been shopping at since the 80’s and I still give them my $…and even throw them a few extra as realmdemagic suggested…sad to see the slow, tortured demise of the record store…

A lot of times the stuff I get from Amazon, particularly if it’s rare or weird, IS from independent vendors. They just use Amazon as a middle man.

Yeah, same here…they have new and used stuff that come from a variety of vendors from all over…but the stuff they ship with the 2 day prime comes directly from them for the most part…I usually use that for stuff other than music…

So, I guess the real question here is: what the hell were you thinking when you decided to go see Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters??

Maybe he had a free ticket and about 90 minutes or so that he didn’t care about.

I’d go ahead and snag it. I got a Ministry LP and an ELP, uh… LP, I guess, hahah, right before the last Ma and Pop record store in my city went under. Plus, WS is a good record. I’m sure it’d be nuts on wax.

I put my nuts in wax once, it stung.
