Yes, I have had many threads over the years ripping on Danzig. He’s a big giant douche. And so are many of his fans (though I must say the crowd at this show was predominantly excellent). I’ve also been banned from fan boards and chat rooms for sharing some of my thoughts, writings. Or artwork on the matter. I love the dude’s work (or at least MUCH of it) and I even find some of his anal-retentive douchiness to be kind of endearing.
The Al comparison is a fair one. Just because someone is or was one of my personal heroes or a favorite artist of mine doesn’t give them a free pass to act like a moron without me laughing at them.

I’d been banned (approximately 10 minutes after joining) a few years back, but I guess I’ve got new PC, IP, etc. so I was able to re-register.

I don’t know if I hate Godflesh, I’m just pretty much apathetic. The “hate” was just an act I came up with for the “Avalanchers” board to send the fans’ stupid emo asses into a frenzied tantrum . . . it was 100% effective, by the way. Just ask Akbar. I do kind of like the raw brutalness of “Streetcleaner” (thanks, Akbar) and listen to it from time to time, but most everything else just bores me (yeah, kind of like Tool, haha).
I saw Godflesh in 1992. They opened for Skinny Puppy. I thought they were all right. They were definitely HEAVY and commanded quite a crushing presence. I was far more impressed at that show with another opening band, though, called THOUGHT INDUSTRY.
As much as I love Godflesh, they are one of those bands/artists that I DON’T need to see live. I can’t imagine it would be particularly interesting to watch two pale English guys stand on opposite sides of the stage and stare at their guitars for an hour and a half, no matter how “heavy” they were - unless of course there were some extremely insane visuals to go with the music.
I went to a Merzbow gig about 15 years ago when I was first really getting into extreme noise music. After the gig I stood outside on the pavement and thought - I just paid 40 bucks to stand in a crowded, smoke filled room and stare at some Japanese guy standing behind a laptop!!
I was also deaf for the next 3 days…
But yeah, I do HATE Tool and think they have one of the most idiotic fanbases of all bands.

Seeing GF live should be on your bucket list…dude,you have no idea what you are missing…they absolutely slay live and you will feel Benny’s bass pulsating through your blood vessel’s for days afterward…in fact,you should do whatever it takes to see them live as soon as possible…and yes there are some extremely insane videos going that perfectly compliment the music…

Sorting it all out is a mess, but the case itself should be fairly simple. Yeah, it’s Danzig’s trademark as much as Jerry and Doyle’s . . . so . . . they should all be getting paid . . . unless they had any other prior agreements or contracts . . . which I highly doubt as I wouldn’t think Glenn would just walk away from a big 'ol pile of cash like that.
