The ladyfriend insisted last night that I watch that Danzig-enhanced episode of Portlandia with her. I felt about it pretty much what I think about every other sketch I’ve seen from that series - it’s clever and elicits lots of “haha, I identify with that” grins, but to this day I have yet to get a genuine ‘belly laugh’ moment out of this show. Armisen and Brownstein are witty folks but I think their range is still pretty limited compared to (yes, pumping their tires yet again) the Always Sunny cast.
Glenn’s secret cache of Billabong shirts etc. did, however, probably come as close to achieving that belly laugh breakthrough as anything on the show.
And it still haunts him. I saw some guy on an interview program refer to him as a “convicted rapist” despite the obvious pre-show agreement that any such questions or references were off limits. Mike called him a “fucking pieth of sthit” and wouldn’t back down. It was awesome.
I think a lot of people take pot shots at the dude, which is okay if you’re just a comedian or an internet troll, but if you’ve expressly agreed to leave such subjects alone and you bumrush the dude with it regardless . . . you deserve all that’s coming to you.

Sorry for the necromancy of this couple-weeks-old post, but…I saw a similar clip where Tyson is getting heckled post-press conference by someone who shouts “put him in a straightjacket!”, which is followed by Mike’s “put your mother in a straightjacket, you goddam bitch!!!” and…well…pretty much 2 solid minutes of mind-bending profanity culminating in “I’ll eat your asshole alive…” Yikes…

yes, I’ve been toying with the idea lately of slapping a piece of gauze over my forehead with a ‘third eye’ on it, and going to work like that. With all the wackiness that goes on in that environment, I doubt anybody would even notice.

BAT SKATES - They are all super terrific there!
They had a Samhain deck too, but they’re sold out of that one. Each of the three had a limited run of 222 (multiply by 3 . . . get it? Yeah, of course.)
Anyway, they’re a bit pricey, but damn they’re bitchin!!! I don’t regret my purchase at all.

Your skate deck is “the beast 18” design. danzig had that design on a zip up hoodie a while back but they sold out and I’ve tried to buy one on line but the only one available online is a size small.

Gotcha! I think I’d actually read that somewhere (the name of the design) but it just never stuck. It always makes me think of Danzig IV . . . I guess because of all the symbols and such.
I just searched “Danzig Hoodie” on amazon and for some reason it didn’t even bring up the one you linked to, shows how shit their search engine is i suppose. But what it did bring up was Danzig Legacy hoodies… in white. Who the fuck wants a white Danzig hoodie?!
