Works for me. I guess they will play some of these tunes live when they come around.
“Anthems”, ANTHRAX’s long-awaited, eight-track EP that pays tribute to the classic songs by some of the band’s favorite acts from the 1970s, will be released in North America on March 19 (MRI/Megaforce), and on March 22 in Europe (Nuclear Blast).
“Anthems” track listing
- Anthem (RUSH cover)
- Jailbreak (THIN LIZZY cover)
- TNT (AC/DC cover)
- Smokin’ (BOSTON cover)
- Big Eyes (CHEAP TRICK cover)
- Keep On Runnin’ (JOURNEY cover)
- Crawl (album version)
- Crawl (special remix)
Anthrax have always been one of may favourites, but I’m not sure I’m going to get on with this record. The fact that I don’t know who Rush are probably means something. And who the hell are Boston? I’ve been waiting on the remix of Crawl for some time though, so I’ll probably buy this anyway.
You must be young not to know Boston, RUSH, etc. It doesn’t matter…go get it!
Nobody likes Rush.
Even Rush don’t like Rush.
Admitting to liking Rush is akin to admitting you were once gay for John Stamos.
(It must be noted at this point that I have nothing against being gay per se. If one were to be gay for…oh I dunno…say, Kirk Cameron for instance, then that would sit well with me. However, being gay for the likes of John Stamos unfortunately doesn’t cut the mustard with this here turkey. To be honest. Brutally honest.
As you were.)

It’s posts like these that make me say this board needs more Peligro 'round here!.

I have a friend who like Rush. Classic Rush anyways (he hates their 90’s stuff). He’s seen em several times, including the tour with the Melvins. That’s definitely a head scratcher, even Buzzo said they didn’t belong there. Anyways, here’s my Rush story:
My parents scored tix to Rush in the early 90’s I had no clue who they were, but I was stoked cuz Mr. Big was opening up. They were still fresh off success of their biggest (and only) hit “To Be With You.” After Mr. Big finished up it started to get dark. At the time I was 6, maybe younger, and going through that phase of being afraid of the dark. So I began to whine and complain that I wanted to go home until my parents gave in. I think the reality was that I didn’t wanna be there cuz I didn’t know who Rush was and I was one of those kids who didn’t like trying new things. My dad was so pissed, mom was irritated too. I then finally heard Rush a few years later and I don’t regret what I did at all, even though it was a very bitchy move on my part.

Ha. I do know Mr Big. Well, vaguely remember them from back in the day… Anyway, I’m wondering if Rush never really made a name in the UK?
So this reminds me of an embarrassing rock gig story from when I was young. Well, I’ve never quite gotten over it.
I wore a Def Leppard t-shirt to Motorhead gig when I was 13. Didn’t really know who either band was at the time, but was aware enough to know that Motorhead were cool and tough and that Def Leppard were quite frankly a bit gay. It was the only band shirt I had. Pity me.
While there is no way I’ll buy this suckfest, it doesn’t even seem worth stealing but how can someone never hear of Rush? It just doesn’t seem possible that one can lurk on Ministry board and not know of Rush. Not that Ministry and Rush are related in any fashion but Rush has a huge fan base. There are about 3 people globally that bother with Ministry anymore. The mind is boggled.
