Meet the Feebles is a fucked up film…
I’ve not finished it. I only started to watch it.
It’s been about 20 years since watching it, and I was having a conversation about it with some buddies about how dark and bitter of a film it was. I remember it making me feel kind of bad about myself as well, which, considering this was in college when we were regularly renting stuff like “Make Them Die Slowly” and other attrocious films is saying quite a bit.
GWAR used to put out some really over-the-top cheesy home videos that were really disgusting, but there was a real sense of self-aware parody that they knew they were just having a sick laugh. But I remembered the “Feebles” flick as seeming legitimately dark, like it was from some truly messed up and hateful people.
I felt it was time for me to revisit it and see if it is as I remember and provide a new review and insight into it.
And, yeah, I used to be quite a fan of Jackson’s earlier stuff. Bad Taste and Dead Alive are both brilliant.
