It was on a cassette tape, I know it was circulating around, but I’d love to get a copy.
The Richard Skinner Interview? If so, I have it as a single RealAudio file, or as three mp3s. File size is really small (2.2 MB), so I could email it to you, if you want to PM me with your address.

Cool, I just saw this at work, so if someone doesn’t beat me to it, I’ll email them to you later today.

Sorry, Jordan, I spaced on sending that interview to you yesterday. I’ll get those mp3s to you this afternoon.

Thanks man, it was a really interesting interview. I’m kind of split between the true story, he does sound pretty down in the interview and slips out about how he hates getting together a band, but quickly saying it as a positive thing. I thought the Work For Love bit where he says he wrote it a month after Cold Life was pretty interesting.
Really? A month? That’s a pretty dramatic transition, musically speaking.
It’s pretty crazy hearing his voice in this interview, sounds the exact same if you watch those early 90s interview on YouTube right now.
For the longest time, the only vague idea I had of what Al’s speaking voice sounded like was the “Sphinctour” album and (albeit mistakenly) the “hidden” track on DSOTS. I honestly though he still had kind of a faux Eurotrash accent going on. Then I saw some random interview on YouTube…
[laugh]
I have that interview from a high quality rip, unfortunately the disc is in another state. If it’s not put up in the next few months I’ll definitely try to get it upped here on the site. And yeah, it’s really interesting. He talks about producing 8 1/2, Shay Jones, Europe, the tour, Britain… etc
Don’t forget the Blackouts were mentioned too. You gotta wonder what Paul originally thought of Al and With Sympathy. Probably like “Oh shit, I have to help this man out”… Thus TLORAH was born.
I read an interview where Paul called the old stuff “faggotty shit” or something like that. [:)]
Up until recently, the only recorded Al voice I remember was where he calls the audience a “frisky bunch” on the In Case You Didn’t Feel Like Showing Up CD. With the distortion effect he kind of sounds like he is constipated.
“Faggoty shit”… Priceless.
