Went last nite…Great show and my first time to this new venue. Its small & I was able to be in the front with ease.

NICE! I was at the GWAR/ Warbeast show last night. I’ll have to put some pics up too.

I have always liked these two bands. Especially Testament. Despite all of the lineup changes, they always put out strong albums. Plus Alex Skolnik to me is in the same category as Mikey when it comes to the guitar.

I was only a fan of John Bush Anthrax, but have to admit to really liking the new Anthrax disc.

I only liked Anthrax in limited doses, typically, but have always dug Scott Ian, regardless. He just always seemed like one of the coolest cats out there and a dude that you just wish you could hang out with.

Anyway, I have a new appreciation for them after seeing them live on The Big 4 tour. They all sounded super tight and Joey was in great shape (for some reason I was expecting him to be a wreck). Great band with great energy.

Testament is great. They were one of my favorites growing up. Seen 'em a few times in recent years, but they always piss me off by not playing “Souls of Black”. That’s one of the coolest songs ever. I don’t understand why they don’t play it at every concert they ever do ever.

I’d have to agree with you on Testament not playing Souls of Black. It is one of their most popular songs. This falls in the same category of Ministry avoiding Stigmata or Burning Inside. There must be some reason that it is avoided.

i only own attack of the killer Bs by anthrax… still love that album. From start to finish not a dud on it!
Late,

They placed souls of black…hehe.

Return to the Apocalyptic City was the 2nd CD I ever owned. I don’t listen to the old stuff much anymore because all the 80’s / early 90’s metal production hurts my tired old ears these days.[:(]

BASTARDS!!!

Heading to Anthrax/Testament tonight. I hope it lives up the the hype.

You’ll have a good time.

This was an interesting show. Testament killed it. Their guitar work is unreal. Toss in Gene Hoglan and you have a metal supergroup.
Anthrax was interesting…
Scott Ian was sick and for a replacement, skolnik and peterson stepped in. Talk about pros! They learned the entire set in one day and even provided Scott’s backing vocals. The crowd seemed lukewarm initially to the modified group but quickly warmed up to the revised lineup. Belladonna is a great frontman. Highly recommended.

Meanwhile, backstage at the Testament gig:

Testament Guy #1: Dude, I saw the setlist for tonight and it says we’re supposed to be playing Souls Of Black.

Testament Guy #2: Yeah? That’s one of our most popular songs. The crowd always go apeshit whenever we play it.

Testament Guy #1: I know but…

Testament Guy #2: Yeah?

Testament Guy #1: I wrote that song at a particularly dark period in my life. I had been drinking alot and moved in with my girlfriend. I started beating her and fooling around with her son. I did some time and did a lot of soul searching and tried to put that all behind me. Playing that song just brings back all those moments flooding back: the violent outbursts and the pyschosexual disfunctions…I’m not sure I want to experience that again.

Testament Guy #2: Well, why didn’t you say something? I’m always here for you. You know my door is always open.

Testament Guy #1: Thanks, I appreciate that.

Testament Guy #2: No worries. What are we doing after the gig anyways? This town is meant to be quite the party hotspot - if you dig what I’m saying.

Testament Guy #1: Party hotspot? No, I’m just going to curl up with a book. I’m going to phone my aunt and there’s this documentary on cable that I’ve been looking forward to on pack animal behaviour.

Testament Guy #2: Yeah, just forget it. Fuck…sometimes…alright do whatever you want.

Testament Guy #1: What’s got into you all of a sudden? You should really stop smoking weed. You’re fucking paranoid and a real downer to be around when you’re on it. Seriously, get your life together dude. It’s not like you’re twenty anymore.

Belladonna is a great frontman.

He really impressed me when I saw them last year. He was lean and energetic and just seemed in great health . . . and he could still deliver on the high notes and screams.

She’s got a smokin’ body and I like how turned on she is by licking people’s assholes. It’s fucking hot.

Wait - are we talking about the same person?

I hope not.

That’s funny right there, I don’t care who you are…

Bella loves Jenna.

yes.
