was that the all day “curiosa” thing with the 10 other bands? it probably didn’t help that outside of mogwai they all sucked.
I really liked Interpol’s set at Curiosa. I’m also one of those that think they sound like Joy Division, Kitchens of Distinction, Television, and The Chameleons all wrapped up into one band.
1002
well to be honest i do enjoy interpol’s debut and last album a fair amount, but i find them amazingly boring live. and for a crappy band, muse put on a good energetic show.

Muse was bad-ass.
Sadly, their laser show lacked a certain luster at 4:00 in the afternoon and outdoors.
Muse was bad.
THATS more like it…
Me either Ringo, your an Aussie too right? It’s because we don’t “Pony Up with our cash” according to Al.
Yep…in Melbourne…at least Dillinger Excape Plan is coming…
dodges flying chairs and a molotov cocktail
Muse and Interpol fucking suck diddlez! You should be ashamed of yourselves!!![mad][mad][mad]

Speaking of “suckin’ diddlez(-es?),” I noticed your avatar’s hat is on backwards…

agreed.
I remember seeing Ween several years ago… four hours into the show, I just couldn’t take standing anymore, so I walked out. Good show, but for Chrissakes, don’t exhaust me like that!
I left during a Pink Dots show that started to go on too long. That’s the nice thing about long shows though, you can leave when you get tired.
If someone’s musical taste actually makes you angry (or at least ellicits a strong enough reaction to post little angry faces), it’s pretty likely that you take yourself far too seriously.
at least ill have a seat for the cure show if needed.
longest show i ever saw was also ween. they played a free warmup gig before a tour when i was in college and it went on close to 4 hours.

That’s impressive… especially since the only ween CD I have is GOD SATAN and most of (from what I remember, haven’t listened to it in about 15 years) those songs are like 1:30! Tic and El Comino being my favorite! I don’t own any other Ween CD’s so I don’t know if the short silly songs are the norm. Oh Yeah I Own Pure Guava Too but I thought that CD BLEW CHUNKS! Which is WHy I own no more CD’sby them.
Late,

Late,
well a good part of the show was them talking to the crowd and taking requests all night in between swigs of JD straight from the bottle. the drummers kit fell apart at some point in the middle of a song. it was a mess but a fun show all around. they were nowhere near “tight”.
fuckers wouldnt play reggaejunkiejew though.
Wow 4 hrs? They just toured Oz I think it was just a normal set time though. I have only heard Push tha little daisys, freedom of 76 and Voodoo lady until recently. LOVE Voodoo lady. Downloaded La Cucaracha recently, that album is awesome, now I’m reluctant to download others in case they are not as good.
Japanese whispers is one of my favorite cds of all time.

Hell yeah! That and The Top seem to catch a lot of flack. I think both are great “albums”, quotation towards JW, since it’s mainly a singles comp. Lets Go To Bed is fucking classic. Favorite cure to me would probably be either Seventeen Seconds or Pornography. Faith is pretty good well. I like almost everything, but I seem to always prefer the stuff 79-82. Only one cure album I can only say I despise, and that’s Wild Mood Swings…just pish. Does have a couple songs here and there, but 2/3 of that album is easily forgetable.
Speaking of setlists, here’s what The Cure
just played a few weeks ago in London…
A very pleasant list. Now that is what I would call a farewell setlist, although Robert didn’t announce the soon end of The Cure this time.
I’m not into Cure anymore for about the last 5 years, but I’ll go for the next possible show somewhere near to ease the pain Ministry gave me the last 2 years…
