Looked ugly… Had to go to the pissarmy once for a fix… No sir, didn’t like it.
Man. Was that ever.
So. Yeah.
I am so very sorry about the downtime. It brought all the sites that use databases down on the server. Essentially what happened was that a partition on the drive of the server maxed out and therefore the database server crashed. Normally it would be a 5 minute fix (by deleting excess log files no longer needed).
However, I was visiting South Africa and was without Internet access there. The day before I left for the US from vacation, I learned of the crash. This was earlier this week and I knew I would be in the US soon enough. That didn’t happen. The flight was delayed for 6 hours from South Africa and because of this I missed the connecting flight (from Paris to Chicago), and then missed 2 other flights. So they re-routed me and kept me overnight in a hotel. I am still on the way back. At first I thought the sites were hacked or something - caused me worry and it sucks when there isn’t any ability to even check it out. The internet cafes in the hotel and airports had just web browsers and wouldn’t let me install/run programs to access the server.
So this won’t happen again. Ironic that all year long things work fine but the few days I spend on a vacation away from the computer, this all happens.
My apologies once again - everything is back to normal now

I was on holiday/vacation too, so I missed the action here. I went to Canada and stayed about 30 minutes from Niagara Falls in Niagara-On-The-Lake. Between the Canadian Falls, wineries & food…have a great time. Somewhat pricing where we stayed but the town was quite, lovely for walking around & had good weather. I also enjoyed the Canadian Beer & Cuban cigars.[sly]
