Amon is easily the greatest producer on the planet as far as I’m concerned. NO ONE makes records like that guy…there’s just nothing like an Amon Tobin album out there. By the time he put out “Supermodified” he really did have a sound all his own. He puts on the most mind blowingly devastating live shows around. Even his beautiful stuff from “Bricolage” sounds absolutely punishing when he plays live. The bass is just fucking massive and the intricate sounds that accompany it are insane. He’s a true Jedi in the studio and the live arena.
ALL of his albums are genius. My personal favs though would be “Permutation”, “Bricolage” and “Foley Room”.
He released a deadly remix of Slayers “Angel Of Death” called “Angel Of Theft” on white label 12". You can get the free download of it from his website. I’d recommend that EVERYONE here downloads it along with his live show of “Foley Room” in Brussels last year from the links below…
