American Horror Story

Anybody watch this?
I just started it the other day on netflix and it’s fucking great!!

The second half of season 1 was a little cheezy and certainly the last episode of season 1 was, but I’m half way through season two, the asylum, and I’m really digging this show…
anybody else watching this?

When I initially saw the previews I didn’t pay much attention because I thought it just looked cheesy…but I have heard from people I trust that it’s really good…I’ll have to look in to it…

Season 1 was good, but I don’t think it was perfectly planned. There’s a few logical inconsistencies.

I skipped season 2.

Season 3 is entertaining so far, but often WAY over the top.

I gave up on it about halfway through Season 1. Didn’t care for it.

Season 1 was good but season 2 is vastly superior to season 1. Kinda scared to watch season 3 cause i don’t know if they’ll be able to top season two and I figure it may be a let down

season 3 isn’t as good as 2 or 1, IMHO, but watchable.

I tried watching it but the overacting was a bit much from all the characters. Couldn’t finish.

I started watching it the other night. I’m 4 episodes in, loving it so far.

great, it gets better too. the end kinda flat lines a bit… the start of the season is certainly better than the end of the season but still it’s ok. and season 2 is just tremendous.
Late,

Just finished Season One, I thought it was excellent.

SPOILER ALERT

There were a couple of things that bothered me that perhaps someone could help clear up.

So they encourage the Dad to take the baby and leave the house at the tail end, but they couldn’t stop the other ghosts from killing him? They are capable of physical contact after all.

During mid-season the nurse freaked and fainted when she saw the ultrasound, but the baby was born human with nothing abnormal about it. The baby may have been growing at an accelerated rate, but this wouldn’t be noticed at first glance.

I might be remembering this one incorrectly, but I could have sworn Spalding helped Hayden kill Ben. Wasn’t he still in police custody?

Like I said earlier, I don’t think they thought everything through in that first season (ex. why does the maid change form as a ghost? None of the other ones do? Why did she think finding her body would set her free when apparently all the ghosts know that’s not how it works? Why do some ghosts, like the boy’s dad, only appear once or twice?).

I think some of that is sort of explained. The ghosts can only appear to someone if they want themselves to be seen (even to other Ghosts). The mortality wounds appear and disappear, so I got a hint that they can choose to make the wounds appear. But you are correct. It would all make sense if it was explained that all ghosts have the same abilities as the maid.

They didn’t know what the other ghosts were planning and were out of the room when that all went down.

Yeah, probably bad plot development, but you could argue she could see the babies soul, or maybe maybe she was just a weirdo and had her own problems.

I don’t remember on this one.

They actually explain this one in dialogue. Men see what they want to see and women feel the ghost’s aura or whatever. So men always see the maid as a hottie because that’s what they want to see, which also explains at the end of the season when the husband is ready to forgive his wife for “cheating” he says to the maid that he understands and the maid replies back that she thinks he really does and she is no longer the hottie but the old soul.

Why did she think finding her body would set her free when apparently all the ghosts know that’s not how it works?

Maybe cause her circumstance is different in that hers is still hidden and she was killed by a human not other ghosts? IDK good question.

??? Not sure I remember what you’re talking about… maybe cause the father wasn’t dragged to the property once he died or left on it? 'nother good question but I don’t think this ruins the season

It would all make sense if it was explained that all ghosts have the same abilities as the maid.

That’s not the maid’s doing. the maid makes herself seen but it’s up to the individual that determiners how she is seen. again explained in dialogue

I remember that, good call Grmpy.

That only leaves the one issue for me. They may have been in a different room during Ben’s murder, but they could have at least shown him to the door, knowing the house had some malicious ghosts about.

But hey, there’s no such thing as perfection. I’m really looking forward to season 2!

yeah, can’t argue with that.

You will not be disappointed, Season 2 is tits.
Tits in your hands and in your mouth. just fuckin great!!

I’ve heard mixed reaction about season 3, and all of it polarized. It’s either fantastic or horrible crap… either way I’m waiting for it to hit netflix… And I hear season 4 is taking place in a circus, which seems like it could be nice and creepy. So, I have a feeling This will be a new watch on the old TV schedule once I’m all caught up.

Well.
The season 3 finale blew.

That sucks. I haven’t started it yet. It’s gonna have to hit netflix I think before I’ll be able to see it.
