Huh, that reminds me I’ve forgotten to check out the previous Tea Party album… last one I heard was Seven Circles before they split and Jeff went solo twice.
As for that THORNS album you’re waiting for… I hope you’re not referring to the norwegian industrial/black metal band - I have a sneaking suspicion that their new album will never see the light of day, as it has been ‘nearly finished’ for almost 12 years now [laugh]
I have no idea who may release something in 2019, but my hopes and prayers inlcude new Ministry, Lard and Revolting cocks albums. I could do with a new Sepultura disc too.
As for the underground, I’m hoping the WRETCHEDPAIN guys can find some time off from their other projects to actually get their album done.
John Cale has been teasing that a new album is nearing completion. I’ll be all over that. He’s one of my absolute favourite artists. He’s been going since the 60s and (in my opinion) has never put out a weak album.
Following up on the Thorns and Tool… Maybe (though doubtfully) 2019 will finally be the year we get the collaborative record by the Melvins and the bandcamp/soundcloud noise group Void Manes that’s supposedly been finished and waiting for them to get release details for sorted out since like 2011
(at least the Mike Kunka collab’s delay was justified by Kunka himself having a mental breakdown and falling off the radar for 15 years with the incomplete demos in his possession and no work done on his end; this thing with Void Manes has supposedly just been done and sitting on a shelf for almost a decade)

Yeah The Tea Party just put out a new single called Black River. Im actually gonna get to see them next year after missing the Transmission 20th Anniversary shows in Seattle and LA.
As for Thorns, Ive got faith it will happen. Hopefully, Snorre Ruch finds a different vocalist that can write good enough lyrics to finish it, since that apparently is whats holding it up. Alderann (or however you spell it) was supposed to reprise his role from the previous record, but I guess hes been busy with other things.
I guess I knew about the TKK you mentioned, but they are so hit or miss for me.
Yeah I hope this new one is as good as Death Threat, or one of their 90s albums. Spooky Tricks was much better live than it was on record.
The snippets sound amazing. Im hoping either the King and his band do a tour playing Them and Conspiracy back to back, or that Mercyful Fate will reunite for the 35th anniversary of Dont Break The Oath.
Really have high hopes to find new awesome music that I dont know about yet.
Yes there are a few bands that I would like to hear stuff from but they are just belting out the same chicken dinner and i want some vareity.
I have been seeing slayer for the past 15 years and once you have hugged ozzy and realize this is a poor dementia patient dressed in goth…well the magic is fucking gone my friend.
The big surprises of last year was Thunderpussy, The Bronx, Year of the Cobra & Black Tusk.
If I am so lucky to discover 4 new bands that are this cool it will be a good year for music
New RevCo should be happening now that tour is over and most everyone has kiss and made up. Today, Sin hinted on his IG of a tour announcement (my guess was RC and not 3HS). And hell froze over when every day is Halloween was played live twice.
Waiting on Hex Deluxe to be finished mixing and then on to mastering so it can be pressed and toured.
May get some new HTDA now that the NIN touring is finished and the scoring is on. Ice Age was good live, very pretty song.
I was gonna say I don’t know of anything I care about this year, but thanks for telling me of the possible Revolting Cocks album as well as reminding me of the live King Diamond.
So, I guess that’s one confirmed (Danzig) and two possibles.
Danzig Sings Elvis (we’ll see if it actually sees the light of day this year)
