Haha! Yeah, I was kind of thinking the same. I can’t wait to listen to it while wearing my Cool Guy Sunglasses and Bad Boy Club T-Shirt.

Haha…with your arm around Spuds Mckenzie…who will also be wearing Cool Guy sunglasses and Bad Boy Club T-shirt…

That’s pretty much the pinnacle of everything I’ve ever wanted out of life. I assume we’ll also be riding green and pink jetskis with “2 THA LIMIT!” and “Breakin Tha Rules!” airbrushed on the sides. We’ll probably also be chewing an ungodly ammount of JuicyFruit.

I think I’ll stick with my Members Only jacket.

I think Al sounds clear and sober and conducted himself very well in this interview. The interviewer, however, unfortunately sounds EXACTLY like I would think the guy on Rockstar Radio would sound like.

First I heard of Al going on a college tour.

[shocked] he’s doing a spoken word tour???
Does anybody in college now even know who he is? What student body is going to request he speak?

I’m cautiously watching that. It’s a dicey proposition. Al has always said he doesn’t really like being in front of crowds and would “self-medicate” (i.e. get completely s-faced drunk) just to get over his nervousness.

Well, doing “spoken word” can be pretty potentially terrifying. You have no band to carry you, and you can’t just go off of “muscle memory” to get through the gig. And giving a speech or conducting a town-hall style question and answer session on politics, business, etc. is not really something you can properly due while being totally bombed.

So . . . . will Al clean up and give such a gig proper care and attention, or will it turn into a one-man trainwreck? Beats me . . . but I’ll buy a ticket, that’s for damn sure!

Most people can’t do this sober let alone drunk.
Yikes!!

after thought: maybe he’s just trying to be Jello now

Won’t be the first.

There’s been a myriad of rockers who’ve taken that “spoken word” schtick. Jello and Rollins obviously being the most successful at it.

Didn’t rollins and Jello start at roughly the same time though?

I was thinking Jello was the first to put it on wax, but I just looked at Rollins’ discography and see that he might have actually been first.

Jello’s early stuff was really golden, but then he just got lost up his own ass and became a tedious bore. God bless him, though. I’ve always loved the kooky bastard.

just listened to the interview

oh god, the laughter… make it stop

eh… he was going to do those lectures after he was done with ‘final’ ministry album called houses of the mole (also dubbed psalm 70 by al himself), after that he was going to tour and then do the teaching. but what is he gonna teach or even lecture about? about how he spent most of his waking moments high or drunk out of his mind?
