He truly is over the hill now. It really should’ve ended with him telling his dad to learn guitar. After that, it just got weird.

I was already nervous about clicking this one. Not feeling any better about it now . .
so he was able to speak ‘normally’ on that tv interview we all saw recently, right?
but here he had to have this written down? and then he’s reading it? with little pauses like he’s struggling to read the syllables?
i don’t even… what’s the point of this.
Oh good lord no…
[
:/]
It was sad. I made it about 45 seconds. Could not finish.
His right arm is much skinnier than his left. and his shoulders look super small. He looks mousy.
He also sounds like a fifth grader giving a book report, complete with, “this is how it starts…”
I’m embarrassed for the guy. [:(]
So rehab didn’t help…
I couldn’t finish it either…
I think it’s maybe more a case of the guy not being able to read well from a page than him being drunk or on drugs. A lot of people don’t read particularly fluidly if you ask them to read a passage aloud. To be honest i found it quite touching. If he is drinking again, then he must be drinking Jesus Juice, there’s a Coke in front of him. I think Al’s problem now is that 40 years of abusing his body (and mind) with all sorts of shit has had a consequence on him. He’s lucky to be alive, but he looks like he needs a good meal or five.
Yeah, I’m with Jay on this one.
While it was kind of embarrassing and awkward, I do think it was his sincere way of trying to do something nice for his dad. Al is a “celebrity” of sorts, so it was important to him (I suppose) that he make a public declaration of his love and respect for his pop.
There were two things that I did find especially funny, though. First off (as already pointed out by Grumps) was his starting the letter with "Okay, and it starts like this . . . " (or whatever he said). And second . . . the Coke can. I’m guessing it was just lack of thinking about it that just kept it in the shot, but it sits there almost looking TOO deliberate, like it was product placement or something, or like someone said, “Dude, don’t forget the Coke can! You know they’ll think you’re drinking again if you don’t have the soda can in the shot!”
Anyway, I think it was sincere . . . but still worth goofing on, nonetheless.

Oh, it’s definitely worth a chuckle or two, yeah!

this.
I really thought it was heartfelt. somewhat cringe worthy, but heartfelt.
It’s AL!! What did you guys expect? I thought it was quite nice actually (even though the ending threw me. Actually, it’s AL - what am i saying?).
