Al going to rehab

I would like to be there when Sober Al sees his last two album covers.

eh eh eh

“Oh my god, what have I done?”

[reply]Can somebody post the think to his actual FB page?

That whole fb page is a nightmare.

That’s what my wife said. Just grandiose ass licking of epic proportions. She asked me if any prongers post on there in an attempt to bring some reality to the page. I said i don’t think so.

I sometimes feel like it but very rarely do. There are far too many arselickers.

Nothing I could say on his wall would turn a man whose music I used to love like no other into less of a hideous has been joke.

I still enjoy his stuff, but it’s depressing reading the comments he makes about his constant drinking, and the moronic comments some of the “fans” make, encouraging his behaviour. These fuckheads are revelling in a man slowly killing himself with drink, and he does it even more to please them. I know it’s not the done thing to say, but i feel really sorry for Al. He’s killing himself in public for the entertainment of some people who are only on nodding terms with his amazing back catalogue.

Some of the comments are like something you’d see on a One Direction page as well, people getting all offended at his jokes, people sticking up for them, everyone bickering and thinking they know him best. It’s all very sad and grubby, i just hope that his stint in rehab brings him to his senses. To my shame, Al’s insane behaviour was one of the reasons i got into Ministry, but now i wish he would just put all that shit to rest and move on. He’s done so much damage to himself and to other people trying to live up to that image, but he’s at the point now where the fortitude of his youth is behind him and he will, unfortunately, die if he doesn’t straighten himself out.

Part of addiction is rationalizing/justifying/glorifying the behavior. Al is too smart to be doing this “for” anyone. It’s just a by product of his condition.

And similarly I guarantee he’s too smart to be getting sober for anyone either. Which means he wants this, and that’s the really fantastic thing.

Al is too smart to be doing this “for” anyone.

I wouldn’t be too sure about that. One person comes immediately to mind.

But I hope that he’s sincere for once and regains his health.

If not for a person he may be doing this for exactly the reason he’s stating - the judge told him to.

Believe that Al’s doing something for exactly the reason he’s stating? I’m afraid that’s too much to ask.

If Al doesn’t drink himself to death before he gets to rehab, my guess is he’s immortal. That man has been through more than most. Fuck Keith Richards and all of Mötley Crüe, Al’s done more than all of them ten fold and still going. On a side note, I think it’s pretty cool that auto spell finished the Crüe for me and got it right, umlauts and all. (Google calls them rock dots. If this is common knowledge then I am way out of touch). On a serious note, a lot of negative things have been said about Al, myself included but he has a family that loves him so I hope he comes through ok and gets to spend more time with them.

Fuck Keith Richards and all of Mötley Crüe

I am getting that tattooed on my lower back - just above where my bottom starts.

TRAMP STAMP

According to his FB post (from Angie), Al had a .39 BAC when he checked in. Sounds like he was right out of an episode of intervention. Intense stuff.

Maybe it’ll stick this time.

Heh.
Heh heh.
Bwa-hahahahahahahahahahahaa!!!

Whew.

But seriously, good luck to him.

It’s really quite dark. I hope it sticks with him and that he is given time before he’s dragged back into music.

If you do some research, Al’s BAC was very close to death. He really must have been drinking non-stop. I can’t imagine the damage his body has sustained. If this rehab stint involves a 12 step program, step 8 will be interesting for Al. He gave a lot of interviews in the last year where he ripped past associates.

What’s number 8? Is that the “making amends” part or something?

Yeah, it is where you apologize to all of those you have wronged due to the addiction.

ALL of them?

Yeah, uhhh, forget it. What’s the point of sobering up if you’re just gonna die of old age before completing the steps?
