Adolph Bunyan & The Nazi Lumberjacks

http://adolphbunyanandthenazilumberjacks.bandcamp.com/

My noise project, for those of you who are into that kind of thing. Just created the bandcamp page today. I have a couple records I’m putting the finishing touches on, and then I’ll post them, but for now it’s just this one long piece. It’s actually the benefits meeting we had today at work, chopped and screwed. Turn-about’s fair play, right?

And the Nazi thing is totally tongue in cheek, btw. Back when I was still in college, there was one of those big lumberjack statues on the side of the highway that looked like it was heiling, so there you go.

There is also this video out there:

Which is the first and only so far Adolph Bunyan live performance, last year at NoiseFeSTL (more on that later- suffice to say if you dig on noise, St. Louis is a good place to be mid-October- check out some of the videos to the right for proof). Sitting in with me was my buddy Karthik Kakarala. I thought we did okay, but fair warning: I let a contact mic get out of hand and there are a couple moments of pretty gnarly feedback. My favorite part is the end segment with the Fisher-Price record player arm (once I tamed that mic).

Anyways. Let me know if you hate it.

That’s about what I was going for, thanks!

No offense but you could’ve created a more shortened URL for that bandcamp page. It’s long, and that’s no biggie these days but would’ve gotten you lynched posting it in any other forum ten years ago.

…it’s a long name but abatnl.bandcamp.com looks/sounds easier

hell yeah reminded me of some Hanatarash!

So, here is the recording of my performance at this year’s Noisefest. I had a recording from last year’s Noisefest of the guy who runs the venue and started our Noisefest that I looped and ran through the filter on my Micromoog and some delay, while my buddy Sean (of Catholic Guilt and Escalade) played with my circuit bent Animal band keyboard and another delay pedal. Then I hooked up an old Fisher Price Happy Apple with a contact mic and proposed to my girlfriend (yes was a foregone conclusion). Then I played eleven artist’s renditions of “This Guy’s In Love With You” stacked on top of each other and played with the speed a bit.

It’s not on my mediafire account, so I don’t know how long this link will be good:
