Anyone interested in hearing this travesty? I can record a take pretty quick. The vocals are easy, as are the chords. It’s not technically acoustic, I’m playing it on the Ibanez S370 w/some FX. Anyway, it’s Friday, and the only plans I have are to have some beers, play some tunes, and make a couple of compilations. Anyway, if anyone’s interested, I’ll put a recording up in a little while…
Ok, here’s the first take. Level-wise, the vox are a little hot (actually, the whole recording is), but I didn’t hear much distortion, and played straight through without fucking up, so this’ll suffice.
Well, with all this conversation about Ministry being a cover band, why can’t we be the real ministry? I mean, we have Chris Connelly with us. Let’s start ourselves the real Ministry Cover Cand! And sue Al! Muahahah. In the meanwhile I’ll start working on a cover. Working on cover for love. With portuguese lyrics. “Trabalhar para o Amor” by “Ministério”.
A Prongs comp could easily come together. There are enough musicians, artists among us that it would at least be as entertaining as those tribute albums. It would be great if each contributor came up with their own mutation on an existing Jourgensen/ Barker project like Offensive Chickens, etc… I’d like to go ahead and reserve the name Bread Into Mould.
Anyone here interested in coordinating something like this? It wouldn’t have to be too fancy, maybe it would be just a download, or cd-r’s housed in a dvd case so the graphics can be large. Any opinions guys?
Thanks, Gila. Yeah, you’re right about the clipping. Sounded a lot better last night, with a few beers in me. I’ll probably re-record it later, and bring my crappy vox down a bit. I really can’t listen to it anymore, it’s making me cringe!
If a prongs comp did come together, I’d probably want to contribute something electronic. I already have Halloween and I Prefer programmed, but would kinda like to do either a new arrangement of All Day, or maybe even a note-for-note of Effigy with full instruments. I wish I had a full band, I’d like to do an updated live jam of Work For Love, based on that Detroit '82 clip.
if anything it would be cool to “remake” the WS-era songs that were never released, like never asked for nothing, love change, etc… the best candidate is probably “do you even like it”, it’s leaning more towards 12" singles/twitch era sound.
A prongs collaboration is a really good idea. Would that be a first for ANY fan based forum? If anything decent came from that, I would think it might get some attention.
…and I would be able to say I worked with Chris Connelly .[laugh]
Man I’m really impressed with your vocals! I really keep expecting flat tone deaf crap, cause that’s usually what comes out of home made/garage recordings. you sir have a future! vocals by far the hardest instrument to get nice. Good job!
Late,

First off… HOLY SHIT, 1002. This is by far the coolest thing I’ve heard all weekend. LOVE the reverb… gives it that feeling that I always felt “Effigy” should have. Very good vox, as well. You fuckin’ nailed it, vato. Yes. THANK YOU!
Secondly, if Prongs is indeed doing a covers compilation… I call “She’s Got A Cause.”
