a terrible thing to taste

it’s probably fair to assume that this footage is new to most of you. taken in europe, november 1992.

Awesome video. Would like to see the rest of the show if you have it and wouldn’t mind putting it up though!

this is great!

as soon as I find a quality audio source for this show I will put up more.

The sequeway from Missing to Deity was cool.

It was also nice to see Al courteous to Connelly, tapping him on the arm and politely offering a shot, as opposed to him just fucking the thing at him.

Funny, I had another tab open of the Prurient video that person has up. Weird.

very cool…thanks. So What rocks…one of the better ones I’ve heard with the weird jam in the middle. Seemed Al’s mic was off or the soundboard mic wasn’t working.

can someone edit al’s latest tour dvd footage and insert this instead? =)

Very cool. To me this is a very underrated live era of Ministry. There seems to very few quality recordings and even fewer pro shots.

They had some interesting guests on this tour that did not seem to be recorded.

are you serious? are you coming from an angle of availability of footage/recordings only? because 1992 is when the band reached their peaed successwise.

What I meant was, as successful as the era was, it was never accurately caputured in a live recording. Just Another Fix has some live tracks, that I felt didn’t live up to the show experience.

For as big and successful as this era was, people simply don’t discuss it much. On this forum at least.

Just an opinion.

He’s got a good point.
For example, I’d like to hear some quality recordings with Chris Connelly doing Just One Fix and NWO, but I guess they just don’t exist.

totally agree. I’m always amazed/surprised when I hear people calling filth pig the best album. but that’s just me. as far as I am concerned you totally hit the nail on the head.

Here is the the reason I don’t think it gets discussed much on this forum.

Ministry fans tend to come from one of two places.

You either started with New Wave/Punk and discovered Ministry in the 80’s.

Or you came from a Metal Background and discovered the band in the early 90’s via Psalm 69.

I came from the latter due to my age, but appreciate both eras equally now.

This forum seems to cater to the first group, which is just fine since this might be the only place it gets discussed.

I hear you, coming from a new wave/punk background myself. But I don’t think that goes for the majority of folks on here. a big percentage seems totally keen on the sludgy and full on metal era that started with psalm69 and totally took over after that. I was already disappointed with the way P69 sounded, but that’s just me. it’s all good. just music anyway…

The “In Case You Didn’t Feel Like Showing Up” CD and Video do a good job of capturing that era. What more would you want?
they capture all that I personally need because it is pre-psalm 69. as far as the 92 stuff goes there is indeed somewhat of a vacancy…

Are you talking about the Psalm 69 Lollapalooza stuff? Did they tour for that album outside of Lollapalooza? I had too much going on at that time so that’s sort of a blank Ministry era for me. They did Sphictour in 96 so that isn’t too far from it I guess.

did they promote P69 aside from Lolla? Well, if the full US tour and the very first European tour count, then yes [;)]
no seriously, yes, they toured the fuck out of Psalm 69.

don’t worry, if you caught them on the MIND tour I wouldn’t condiser it “having missed anything” [;)]

1992 was flat out stale and boring compared to the extravaganza of the previous tour. aside from Connelly on So What the Psalm tour didn’t have much going for it.
but againb, that’s just me…

Well, it had the mic stand with the steer skull and bones, which doesn’t seem special now but freaked people the hell out (particularly acid dropping Lollapalooza hippies like the guy who works in the studio next to mine) at the time.

I’m not sure how I missed all of that.

Me either, I was a huge Ministry fan around that time even though Psalm 69 wasn’t my cup of tea. I opted not to see them at Lolla because I can’t stand big outdoor festivals. It wasn’t until perusing the tour section of this site that I realized they even did a separate tour. I would have went to that.
