"99 Percenters" official music video

The video is embarrassing.

I’m not going to listen to the album leak. I’d rather wait for it to come out. Most of you people hate everything though, so I’m still willing to give it a shot despite the above comments.

Yeah, the album’s all sorts of terrible. Any of you guys remember the old days when Al used to take his sweet time making albums, going way over budget, and making good music? Man, those were the days.

There was a wedding at my parents’ house this weekend. One of my mom’s friends was talking about going to Lollapalooza and seeing Pearl Jam play second and then bouncing out because he didn’t care about any of the other acts- listed off a bunch of them, and when he got to Ministry I piped up and went, “Woah, woah, woah, early 90’s Ministry? Are you kidding?” and he was like “I just fucking hate Al Jourgenson. I used to date this girl in Chicago back then, and everybody was always like it’s not a party unless Al shows up and I just didn’t get it. Guy’s a fucking asshole, I always had to stop myself from kicking his fucking ass.” I hope to sit him down and get some of these stories out of him soon. Not that this has anything to do with this thread, just wanted to let y’all know I’ve got some interesting info coming down the pipeline.

Trying to inch my through this mess. Where’s the kitchen sink? Where’s all the hits? Oh Al…

That should be called 99 centers because that’s probably about how much it cost to make.

Or where you can buy it in 8 months . . .

Long time lurker, first time poster. I have to get this out of my system.

This might be the worst video ever produced by a relatively well-known band. I’ve never met Al, but I’m embarrassed for him. I really want to believe that it’s a parody, but it’s probably not.

Then, I downloaded the album leak. Oh, man, I almost have to come up with a new language to describe how bad this is.

The SOD cover is the only song that has any redeeming qualities, but it’s disappointing in a different way. It shows pretty clearly that the current band has a potential to rock with decent material, and definitely highlights the fact that it really is the songwriting (both musically and lyrically) that makes this album as bad as it is. I also don’t hate the Relapse remix that ends the album, but I doubt Al ever heard it, so I can’t really use that as an album compliment. Bloodlust had some potential, but it just winds up sounding like a slightly growlier late-era Alice Cooper.

On the upside, I was pretty impressed that Al managed to recycle that crowd noise sample from the beginning of Yellow Cake, Rio Grande Blood and a few other Ministry songs again. It’s in United Forces… subtly, but it’s in there. Good for him. It’s nice to have a hobby.

The sheer volume of suck in a Ministry song about getting out there to vote will haunt my dreams, so that’s just great. Let’s hope we don’t have to hurt like this again in a few more years.

EJS

growlier late-era Alice Cooper.

brutal planet and dragontown wipe the floor with anything post-2003 ministry. and good ol’ coop still plays fukin nice shows with varied setlist (mostly hits ofc) but going as far back as 1972 (!) unlike some frontman we know who did this in 2008 i think:

how about some old ones!
YEAAAAAH!
this is a song about bush!
YEEEEEEA!
this one’s called… No W!
(huh?)

and coop is what, 70 y.o.? on a side note, Welcome 2 My Nightmare turned out to be entertaining. but i digress.

this is another same old same old album same old songs and i cant help but to think of TLS/RGB songs while listenin’ to relapse. its all the same.

even the programmed drums are the same… why oh why
and same lame samples with some1 talkin thru stupid fx. and u say he even used that crowd noise (dated back to '91 NWO remixes) again? wow.

y’know what. houses aint that bad actually tho im not fond of it. but even then… if u consider HOTM decent, anything after that is just reduntant rehash.

Jourgensen said in a statement. “I am in awe of the passion and motivation of the Occupy Wall Street movement and feel compelled to contribute what I can to inspire global citizens to continue to take to the streets in protest against the encroaching New World Order.”

Wow, if I was a Wall Street banker, I’d be shaking in my boots right now.

Hey Al, maybe instead of releasing shitty music videos and embarrassing albums that only people like Grmpysmrf and maybe some 12 year old Slipknot fan would buy, you could open a hotdog stand at the next Occupy Movement protest. Make sure all those left wing fucktards and delusional welfare recipients are well fed and taken care of. That would be much more “inspiring”.

Dickhead.

It fits the cd…too bad the drum machine fucks it up!

Went through them…Weekend warrior was okay. Don’t see me listening to this more than once or twice. :frowning:

Giving it a listen, Bloodlust is the only song I’d go back and listen. It’s just refreshing to actually hear Al sing… All the screaming lyrics over the past few albums have been getting more and more inaudible… Whatever, can’t wait to spin this new WS LP I scored.

WS is awesome! Many may disagree, but I find it better than any Ministry record from the past 20 Years

geez somehow i ended up watching that making of youtube thing again to torture myself…man, it’s like al’s the retarded kid at the party like he can’t keep up"uh…duh prong rules" “awwwwwwwwhhhh yer kidding me” they even turn on the boss and say “okay 5 min later” and he just repeats the last thing the last person said and i even like ministry-no bark to an extent it’s just whatever happened from TLS to now put al on his last legs i’m really a lil’ sad watching these like he’s dead or something you know?

Yeah…a part of me wants to buy the relapse documentary for collection purposes. The other part of me says, this is really rock bottom lame.

Watched the video. Its all been said. Much worse than I could have dared imagine. Thanks to Tenohtwo for the review of the album. I wasn’t going to try and listen to it, and you’ve cemented that opinion. I’ve spent actual money on every other album they’ve released too.

I had to put on the NWO clip to cleanse the pallet

I wish to have weird sex with the chick that signs out “99%.”

[:)]

I used to have WS on vinyl. Gave it to my buddy for his birthday. Wish I hadn’t, dude doesn’t even have a record player.

I’ve got the Work For Love single on vinyl.
It’s got a sweet hentai cover art.

I know.

Want so bad.

After another listen, 99% might be one of the better tracks… I really need to stop…
