Sin’s new metal project debut’d their video today and their EP is now available for purchase.
I think it’s fucking AWESOME.
It’s totally METAL, so if you’re looking for some electro-pop jibber jabber, this ain’t it. But if you like intense metal vocals and guitar work . . . you’ll likely dig it. Check out the video and see it’s up your alley.
This is good. “Wisdom Screams” is my favourite track. Why is the CD more expensive than a full-length album, though?
Currently one comment on the Bandcamp: “Stopped listening to Ministry when they got too Leftist and political and that sucks because Sin ROCKS!” [crazy]
Yeah, I wasn’t super happy about spending $25 for 3 songs but I’m told it’s the “grumpy old man tax” for refusing to download shit ($5 for digital). It’s limited to 100 ea., but, whatever.
I really just looked at it as helping the guys out by throwing a little money at 'em. Plus I really want to have a physical copy to play in my car.
I saw that Ministry comment earlier. Funny shit.
Those comments are like people screaming in a megaphone, “I don’t like this band that I used to like because I just found out what they’d been singing about for the last 30 years!!!”
The singer is going for those Queensryche/Dream Theater/Fates Warning style of vocal gymnastics…dig the music…
Yeah, I actually really dig that shit when the music also kicks ass.
Some of the newer European stuff is just too fucking gay to handle when guys think they’re Vikings and put on plastic helmets to dry hump each other in the pit.
But give me some Iced Earth, Manowar, or Yngwie and I’m happy (Yeah, yeah, it’s still nerdy, but . . . fuck, not sure if I had a point, actually).
The 3-Headed-Snake project actually reminds me a bit of Bruce Dickinson’s solo works which featured vocal acrobatics and really solid metal (sometimes totally unmetal too, haha).
Anyway, I know not everyone will like it (and I’m sure they are well aware of this too — especially with only 100 copies of the CD). But for anyone that digs that classic (or maybe it’s called “power metal” now) metal vibe I think it’s got a good chance of sticking in their playlist.
This is terrible. sounds like a maiden rip off band. Maybe they’re better live, but the recording is really sub par. Sounds like high school kids tinkering with recording equipment in their garage. Sounds great if theyre high schoolers. sounds terrible for professional musicians.
I listened to wisdom screams and Money God. Sorry to shit on your buddy Sin, Gunnar, but this is really weak.
the best part in all this is that comment about “too leftist” that dumb shit posted.
I like Skunkworks a lot also…that was the one his son was involved in…it was like if Bruce fronted Rush…
I’ll have to rebuy that one. I wasn’t ready for it at the time I first heard it, hahaha. I probably skipped through a few tracks in the store and yelled, “The fuck is this gay shit anyway???” I’m pretty sure I love it now.
The music is actually decent but I cannot get behind those vocals…really not my thing, however, maybe if he threw sum FX on his vox during the chorus…something, it just sounds so fucking dull[pirate]
Aside from my abhorrence toward Sin, this music is definitely cool…sonically its awesome but those vocals are just awful…so cliché metal like ripping off Maiden & King Diamond…it sucks so bad, wish I could get an instrumental version of this song…in fact, why wouldnt Sin just do an all instrumental album…hes definitely talented enough (light bulb) [;)]

I guess it just depends on what scene/genre we’re all comfortable and happy in. I worship King Diamond and Iron Maiden, so if some dude can do an adequate job of vocal plagiarism, I’m all for it.
Sinigers are a HUGE part of metal for me, and usually the most iconic aspect. Even guitar-spotlight stuff like YNGWIE or STEVE VAI won’t do much for me if it’s not paired with really good vocals.
Anyway, to each their own. I think Sin and Cesar are great players, but an instrumental album would probably bore me to tears.
