2016 US Election

Yep, there are legitimate reasons to be afraid I certainly don’t deny that, I just don’t see that shouting down the other side is the best way to navigate through that fear and create legitimate protection for the ones we love. Fear with no solution doesn’t lead anywhere good. Anger with no empathy keeps the cycle chugging along.

Grmps totally reacted disproportionately to what I said. I suspect I hit too close to home. I’m not joking when I say that Trump really does debate in a similar way. I just saw that Chappell made a joke about us voting in an internet troll. There you go.

ETA: The reason I sense misogyny from you Grmps isn’t because you didn’t support Clinton, but your idea that you and your friends say shit like “Grab them by the pussy” regularly and it’s just regular locker room talk. Imma say you’ve jumped down the throats of people far harder for saying much less (like taking Ice’s statement as meaning"I’m ok and fuck everyone else who isn’t" for example). And furthermore you went at BlueVelvet hard and kept talking about her “tits” and have acted similar in other situations. There’s just something about you that comes across as skeevy when talking about woman. I can’t imagine I’m the only one here who has thought as much.

There is something that can be done; write the elctoral college members from the red states and ask them to select a different Republican: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/davidhalperin/electoral-college-can-sto_b_12899016.html

The Electoral College making someone else President will surely cause a HUGE upheaval. We’re seeing protests now but the protests from the right would be insane.

The peaceful transfer of power needs to take place and the left needs to work to fix their party and their government. We need to fix this but killing the transition of power is an extremely bad idea.

Any other GOP President is going to be just as harmful towards any progress made by Obama in the last 8 years. They really have a rubberstamp to pass whatever they
want since they also control the House and the Senate.
I don’t like it any more than you do but Trump is going to be President for the next four years barring impeachment (not likely), resigning (not happening) or death (not likely).

70 million people voted for Obama in 2008. 59.6 million voted for Clinton (she still won the popular vote). Democrats have won the popular vote in every election since 1988 with the exception of 2004. Democrats need to find out what happened to the 10+ million people who voted for Obama in 2008.

Rural whites in the Midwest really won this election for Trump. Find a way to appeal to these voters. I live in Chicago, but you don’t have to venture very far outside the city before you encounter people who are very angry at Obama and the government. I understand their anger, but it is misdirected. I suspect they’re hoping that Trump can bring back manufacturing jobs but those jobs are gone and they’re never coming back. In fact automation is something that neither candidate addressed and millions (truck drivers, cab drivers, etc.) can potentially be out of a job with a snap of the fingers.

It’s unlikely much can be done in the in 2018 but the potential to win back parts or most of the House, Senate and the Presidency is there in 2020. There are more people in the country that support Democratic values and issues than those who support what Trump stands for. The DNC needs to find a way to reach these people and inspire them to get out and vote. You just have to hope that Trump doesn’t do irreparable damage in the meantime.

Recessions are a normal, healthy part of the business cycle. They happen and we’re overdue for one as the U.S. has experienced an extended period of growth under Obama, which makes having a chaos candidate in charge all the more puzzling. However, the blame will probably lay at the feet of Republicans. When the deportation of illegals doesn’t make their lives better, what other scapegoats are they going to find?

I just don’t see that shouting down the other side is the best way to navigate through that fear and create legitimate protection for the ones we love

Who is shouting?

Fear with no solution doesn’t lead anywhere good. Anger with no empathy keeps the cycle chugging along.

Really? where is your empathy? a landslide of people are about to become casualties of the Trump Administration not because I am drumming up “fear mongering” about Trump as you wrote earlier, but because of the things that Trump has said he will do and the balance of power that is on his side to do it. “punishment for women who have abortions” and so forth. putting an Antonin Scalia clone back on the court.
Sometimes there is no solution. You have to wait for one to present itself, and as of right now blocking traffic and disrupting daily lives is the best there is for a “solution” and it’s not that great.

Grmps totally reacted disproportionately to what I said.

How else was I supposed to react to a post that called for the difference between discourse and insults? You clearly can not tell the difference between the two So of course I reacted disproportionately.
You know, I “SHOUT AT EVERYBODY!!!” because you read everything that disagrees with someone else’s opinion as an affront to the original statement maker. Every question that is asked of their statements they have made is clearly questioning the integrity of their belief system. and certainly don’t offer a counter point of view because that is OBVIOUSLY arrogant Trump-like behavior. Just let whom ever say what ever they want unchallenged or Green Death will cry like a child and call you a bully because you questioned the statement. Did I get that right? It really sounds to me like you have a problem in that you really don’t have your position that well thought out and so instead of admitting “you’RE (for Pon3) wrong” or just not that thought out, because that is something that is unimaginable, so instead it must be that grmpy’s an asshole. I get it. it’s a lot easier on the ego.

JUST BECAUSE I ASK YOU QUESTIONS OR CHALLENGE YOUR STATEMENTS DOESN’T MEAN I’M SHOUTING!!! get it?

]I suspect I hit too close to home.

Good grief!

I’m not joking when I say that Trump really does debate in a similar way.

We know you’re not because what ever you write is always correct and perfect every time. Any type of sarcasm is definitely Trump behavior and anyone who engages in it is certainly Trump. Funny how you have all of this patience for President Elect but no patience for that "internet Troll’ on Prongs who has no control over your life. but there is my Trump behavior again isn’t it? oh, me I better learn my place quickly if I’m to get along here in the land of Green Death.

There’s a new sheriff in town boys and it’s Green Death! and he will false equivalency your ass to (Green) death unless you do things HIS WAY!!! Better start walking the walk.

I just saw that Chappell made a joke about us voting in an internet troll. There you go.

Oh my you’re on par with Chapelle goody goody goody! When does your award show up? Man, There goes Trumpy again. I’m not gonna last here, I get it.

ETA: The reason I sense misogyny from you Grmps isn’t because you didn’t support Clinton, but your idea that you and your friends say shit like “Grab them by the pussy” regularly

Really? “regularly?” I wrote that?

and it’s just regular locker room talk.

It is locker room talk and fuck you for making me defend that asshole again. For some people it’s real and they do actually think and behave that way. For others it’s, in short, making fun of hyper masculinity. because we’re really not those people or think that way or have those attitudes.

Imma say you’ve jumped down the throats of people far harder for saying much less (like taking Ice’s statement as meaning"I’m ok and fuck everyone else who isn’t" for example).

I didn’t “jump down his throat.” But it’s clear you read things how you want to despite context as proven by your next statement.

And furthermore you went at BlueVelvet hard and kept talking about her “tits” and have acted similar in other situations.

How convenient that you completely ignore that blue velvet brought her tits up first. I didn’t say “oh, hey, there’s a girl here lets degrade her and talk about her tits…” With Blue Velvet…What’s phrase? low hanging fruit?! Also, notice you had to go back what? 7-8 years to take that little nugget out of context?

There’s just something about you that comes across as skeevy when talking about woman.

You’e probably getting your own vibes when it comes to skeevy. See I’ve never talked about my sexual conquests here but you on the other hand have done as much talking about the ladies in your Yoga class.

Of course, I work in a job surrounded by cool and hot women but I’m concerned about the whole “piss where you sleep” type of thing. I’ve had a number of women approach me (one texted me asking to go to a yoga class with me in LA not an hour after finding out I was single) but I don’t want to fuck up my sweet ass job just for the sake of a little sweet ass.

an because we know how the porn industry doesn’t ever grab women by the pussy

It’s that 9 months that makes me not terribly interested in being in solitude longer. I’ve effectively been a monk (or at least a monk with internet porn)

EDIT From my wife:
“Internet porn,” Meaning you’re not paying for it. Meaning you’re using those women who are getting you off and not paying them/or doing anything for them in return. What a friend of women you are.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I can’t imagine I’m the only one here who has thought as much.

Seems you do a lot of imagining. Get the fuck outta here with your sensitive guy routine. It’s a good thing your a big dick seeing as how you only have small one. (I’m an equal opportunity asshole not just misogynistic it would seem)
oh, yeah, FUCK YOU!!!

Completely accurate.

The peaceful transfer of power needs to take place and the left needs to work to fix their party and their government. We need to fix this but killing the transition of power is an extremely bad idea.

Unfortunately i dont think there will be anything peaceful about any of this.

Any other GOP President is going to be just as harmful towards any progress made by Obama in the last 8 years. They really have a rubberstamp to pass whatever they

Well written. Wish i would’ve written it myself.

You win. I wish you nothing more than a long and happy life grmpysmrf. I hope you’re having good times with your family and I apologize for calling you misosygonistic, I have never met you and I’m making assumptions based on what I’ve read here. That was unfair.

I’m not scared of Trump.
I’m scared of EVERYONE.

The people who are so upset about the victory of a candidate who supposedly represents division and intolerance are now (based on what I see on FB) blocking and unfriending and dismissing anyone thst did not vote the same, talk the same, think the same.

The people that made such a big deal about inclusiveness, peace, and public safety are now demonizing and attacking the other 1/2 of the nation, lighting trash cans on fire, and blocking lanes on the freeway.

There’s a lot of yelling, which is in turn met with plugging of ears and more yelling. Yelling gets to fighting and fighting gets to warring. Yadda yadda, fucking apocalypse, all because we’re a nation of cowardly babies who don’t know how to sit down with people different than us and figure shit out like fucking adults.

Trump . . . yeah, he’s scary. But I’m more scared of the other 300 Million Shitheads in my big back and front yards.

I’m not so much scared of that as annoyed, but yeah - you said it right and said it well. I’ve already heard Dems trotting out George Clooney and Oprah for presidential candidates of 2020. Jesus, it’s a strange world we live in.

And so it begins… trump nominates neo nazi head (Alt-right)as his strategist.

You’re a wanker.

A belligerent, rude, petulant, overbearing insufferable hump of an angry liberal.

And a wanker.

I know a lot of the Australians have fled the board since we held a trial two years back (or whenever the heck that was) . . . .

But I’d still like Peligro to make use of his accounts to make the obligatory posts about how he’s gotten literally 100’s of messages from other Prongers who hate Grumpy and want him off the board.

I’m feeling kind of nostalgiac.

Didn’t even have to build a wall AND got them to deport themselves, I’ll note.
Oh, Peligro, that probably didn’t feel good. [:|]

Just so that I’m clear on this . . . . he’s still pissed, right?

Certainly seems that way.

Wait, what? Can someone please be kind enough to direct me to all this? It might make for some nice reading over the Thanksgiving break.

For DEADGUY . . . . Peligro’s use of alternate accounts to defend his own honor and integrity and/or witness to the fact that millions of members hated Grumpy and Gunnar is spread throughout countless threads.

But here’s the thread where the trial was held . . . and Peligro folded like an old dollar bill.

I knew you’d deliver Gunnar. You are the greatest!

Peligro was using multiple accounts? That sounds hilarious and disturbing at the same time.

Have you ever NOT been retarded? Like, ever ever? I know yr Left Wing Nutjob Nouveau Fascist buddy with the embarrassing taste in music hasn’t. But have you?

There must have been SOME point in your life where you weren’t an obnoxious attention seeking pinhead, surely?

Surely??

<sighs>

Anyway, whatever. I’m off. Enjoy listening to Dokken and smearing your faeces all over the kitchen cabinets or whatever it is you do for kicks.

Certainly seems that way.

Pissed? At you? HA!! Yeah, I’m pissed at you in the same way that a mildly perturbed customer might be “pissed” at the Subway guy for putting too much mustard on his Steak and Cheese.

Don’t flatter yourself. You’re a complete dumbass and an utter shitheel to anyone with an opinion of his own. And who am I to do anything other than point out the bleeding obvious?

But yeah, keep patting yourself on the back, teacher.
