I was thinking that myself, but it being in the UK gives me slightly more hope, they don’t have to travel far or anything, hahaha. But yeah, you never know.
[reply]8/14 - Terry Bozzio
Have you ever seen Bozzio do his thing live? It’s fucking mind-blowing shit…I saw him once in some little club and there was this small unoccupied part of the stage…it seems like a dick move looking back but I climbed up there and sat almost right beside his kit…nobody said anything so I just stayed there and watched the whole set…not to many people in the world who can play like that guy…
Yes! Two years ago, at the same venue as the upcoming show (Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix). It was an incredible performance. This year, five of us have second row seats, so I’m totally stoked. He is definitely one of the best drummers around. I always point friends to “Punky’s Whips” from the Baby Snakes film as an example of his awesomeness. The end of that song contains some of the best drum fills I’ve ever heard, along with one of my favorite Frank solos.

Agreed…I have probably watched Baby Snakes 100 times in my life…know it like the back of my hand…Bozzio has done lot’s of cool stuff over the years(FZ,UK,Missing Persons, stuff with Billy Sheehan and I really dig the albums he did with Tony Levin and Steve Stevens…great shit…
Wound up seeing Buckethead last night. Great show minus the Sacramento dad metal crowd.
Just saw Buckethead down here…outstanding as usual(I’ve seen him dozens of times in various line-up’s,solo etc)…our crown was a broad mixture of young and old…
Any Weird Al fans here?
I’ll be seeing him tomorrow at the Palace Theater in Columbus.

My cousin got to play $10,000 Pyramid with Weird Al as his partner. It’s going to air later this month. I was super jealous.

The show was awesome! He played all of his iconic songs. He had a video projection that played various tv/movie clippings he appeared in while he changed costumes in between songs. He ended the set with “The Saga Begins”/“Yoda” and had costumed Star Wars characters on stage.
Definitely a fun show!
Yeah! Weird Al is coming to LA area later this month but scheduling just doesn’t work for me. I would have loved to go. I’d heard about the shows and they sound like a total blast. A bunch of the devoted fans know all the silly insider stuff and it’s apparently almost a Rocky Horror type experience with them waving spatulas and all jumping back in unison every time Al jumps during “Fat”. It just sounds amazing.
This reminds me that it’s been too long since I have watched ‘UHF’…
HAHA!!! Me too. I’ve got the DVD. It’s a favorite of mine. It’s a good film to watch when you don’t really feel like having to follow a complicated plot too since it’s kind of compiled of just a bunch of funny bits thrown together that all can stand on their own.
It’s a great little cult classic…and it even has Kramer!

Awesome. I’m sure Weird Al would not disappoint.

The UHF soundtrack i think is my favorite Al release. Biggest ball of Twine is brilliant, Isle thing, she drives like crazy and generic blues are fucking comedy genius! man I love that album
You get to drink from THE FIRE HOSE!!!
“I’m thinking of something orange! Something ooooorrrrraaannnggee!!! Give up? It’s an orange!”
Tonight: Swans. Jarboe is supposed to be making an appearance - this will be her first time playing with Swans in nearly 20 years, so it’s pretty special.
Tomorrow night: Puddles Pity Party. Not everyone understands a seven foot tall sad clown doing cover songs, but those of us that do are a superior breed.
Next week: Marissa Nadler. This is her first tour playing with a full band. Should be something to hear.
