2016 upcoming concerts

Wow! Too much good stuff to cram in a tight schedule but I would love to catch an Iggy gig too. Others that appeal to me but are not locked are Joan Jett/ Heart and The Cult.

Isn’t Cheap Trick also on that Heart/Jett bill?

God damn the Iggy/Homme tix are $60-$105…was not expecting that…

You may be right.
I think I’ve seen ads for versions with and without Cheap Trick on the bill. I don’t know if that’s because only part of the tour is with Cheap Trick or perhaps they’re just downplaying that part depending on the source.

I never really cared for Cheap Trick, though I’d watch 'em if they’re part of the package . . . if only to see Rick’s 5-necked guitar. I would seriously throw a tantrum, though, if I sat through their set and didn’t get to see it.

Haha,I am just the opposite…I am a big fan of Cheap Trick…well 70’s and early 80s Cheap Trick…they lost me in the mid 80s…nice return to form in the late 90s though…a real fun live band…always been road dogs…I just love their brand of American power pop and it always takes me back to a better place and time…

Heart and Joan Jett are ok but I can live without them…I certainly respect what they have done and continue to do…

Well, I don’t think I own anything other than a “Greatest Hits” CD by any of them, so if any of them decided they wanted to treat the fans to all the deep cuts they’d be a let down for me. I could without Cheap Trick’s and Heart’s mid-80’s diarrhea ballads, though.

I think it was “The Flame” that made me hate Cheap Trick years before knowing any other song.

Haven’t they sworn they will never play “The Flame” ever again?

When I first moved to LA in '99, there was a record store right across the street from me (now long gone). One night, I was walking by and they had Cheap Trick playing in the parking lot for some sort of promotion. There were only like 12 people there. It was pretty sad, but the guys were still really giving it their all.

I’d never heard that.
But I hope it’s true.
That song is so gay it could give AIDS to an HIV Virus.

Yeah, they have said that and I believe they have kept their promise…it’s ok,if you still want to hear it just crash any prom in America and I guarantee it will be playing…

I remember that song, but when I try to hum it transforms into “Eternal Flame” by The Bangles.

saw the cure last night here in atlanta. awesome show. 33 songs, 4 encores. they sounded great too. robert smith is a true professional.

ticket prices were out of hand though.

I don’t think i’ve got any concerts coming up this year at all, it’s been a really barren patch for me so far. Normally i’d have seen loads of bands by this point, but i’ve only seen Corrosion of Conformity (again) so far in 2016. I’ve got Black Sabbath in Jan 2017 though [:)]

my son absolutely adores the Descendents. runs around the house singing “suburban home -I want to be stereotyped, I want to be classified” As well as “I like Food” and “Silly Girl.” So, we’re taking him to his first concert at the Palladium for the Descendents on Oct 9. He’s only 5 so we have to get him some noise cancelling headphones. But he really likes Milo. I think he’s going to be disappointed when he finds out Milo doesn’t look like his silly cartoon picture.

I saw Slayer and Anthrax again last year and got Napalm Death/Obituary/Voivod/Carcass in one show, all absolutely fantastic. When i was younger i thought Napalm Death and Carcass would be just too extreme for my tastes, but i really appreciate them now, especially being able to see the absolute energy they put out [:)]

Yeah, Barney is a force of nature. They always put on great shows.

Back when i was in school in about 1988 i got a cd player/tape/turntable combo, so my friend who was into Napalm Death and Carcass (but didn’t have a CD player yet) kept buying CDs and giving them to me to copy to tape for him. The artwork on the covers was pretty sickening to my young eyes and i didn’t care for the music at all. But the shows wre incredible, i’ve seen Carcass 2 or 3 times now and loved them. Napalm Death, wow, just unbelievable live. Total intensity. After the show i was with another friend who’s been into them pretty much from the start, since he was in school in the 80s, and he met Barney, who really liked this bracelet my friend had weaved himself from bungee cord, so he gave it to him. He seemed really pleased with it, so my mate was pretty happy to have met him and done something cool for him in return for all the crazy music.

You guys go to a lot of shows.

I forgot:

Puddles Pity Party
William Elliott Whitmore

But you’ve still all got me beat.
