So…the Cubs are one game away from the World Series. Looks like perfect Fall weather this weekend in Chicago. I imagine the atmosphere at Wrigley Field will be electric. It seems like this edition of the Cubs is ready to bury decades of frustration. Kershaw could be tough to beat on Saturday, but the Cubs seem to have all of the momentum in their favor.
I hope Wempathy goes to the game!
Don’t count the eggs before they have hatched…this is the Cubs we are talking about…until they are holding the trophy up they are still the billy goat cursed Cubs…haha…that being said, you are correct in that if any Cubs team will do it then it is this one…when those bats get hot they are unstoppable…been that way all year…we shall see how it plays out…
all of a sudden prongs has turned in to a sports forum…ha
I am from Kansas City, and I experienced what you are going through the last two Falls (GO ROYALS!). There is absolutely nothing like it. Savor every single minute of it. Each pitch is like an eternity.
Ben Zobrist helped my Royals win it all last year, and he is my primary reason for rooting the Cubbies on. He’s a great guy and one of the easiest players to root for in professional sports.
I would think that everyone outside of Dodgers fans would want to see a Cubs vs. Indians World Series. The NLCS has been fun to watch (I only watch the playoffs these days, which is plenty of baseball for me). The Cubs are scary when their bats are alive.
I would be happy for Cubs’ fans if they won it all, and also relieved that the whole world wouldn’t have to hear about the drought and curses and suffering any longer. Of course, most living Cubs fans don’t know the difference anyway, just those in their '80s and '90s who might remember the last pennant.
From Wikipedia:
“The team has appeared in a total of ten World Series, most recently in 1945. The Cubs have not won the World Series in 108 years, and they have not won the National League pennant in 71 years, both of which are record “droughts” in Major League Baseball.”

This is best Cubs team in my lifetime but anything can happen in a 7 game series especially if you don’t have the home field advantage.
That said, I’m not sure a team with all-righty starting rotation and only one good lefty out of the bullpen can beat the Cubs in a series.
The rumor here is that the Cubs might activate Schwarber for the Series to be the DH.

Were you one of the 300,000+ celebrating in and around Wrigley on Saturday night? What a scene. Can’t imagine what would happen if they win the whole thing…
Cubs already chokin on it…

Watched the first half of the game at a friend’s cottage in Lake Geneva. My wife and I (and our little Silky Terrier) retired to our hotel room for the last half and were safely tucked in when the Wrigleyville shenanigans started.
All tied up…momentum swing for first game at home…Shwarber is a serious threat…

Wow. Did Schwarber deliver last night or what? Amazing comeback story. Interesting to see if/how they will use him back at Wrigley.
Remarkable performance by the Cubs in Game Six of the World Series. Strap in for Game Seven! [:)]
If the Cubs win, what’s next? Ministry in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame (in Cleveland of course)!
