I was actually going through my tv’s music video list and saw the new blind melon video as I was writing that last post. Not as good. Same with the new singer in alice in chains. When you have such a distict singer it is impossible to replicate the older material sometimes and the band is better off just having a new name. But they need the old name association to move cds and attract crowds…
i’d imagine though it being difficult to play lead guitar and vocals at the same time. Some may be able to do it, but maybe jerry can’t. But they really did sound pretty similar to one another. The new guy doesn’t have a bad voice at all, but he’s no Layne, and it’s just not the same. If or when they release a new one, i’ll definitely be checking that one out.
