2004 Evil DoER tour questions

I think I might have been standing next to you at one point man…I was next to this tall skinny dude in a trench with a bald head and glasses who looked to be in his 30s possibly. I remember screaming “Play Everyday is Halloween!!!” and the dude sharing a laugh with me about it.

Was it you???

BUSTED!

You caught me. =)
I remember somebody screaming that and all I could do was laugh. It would have been great if they would have actually played it. =)

It’s so silly when you realize how focused on this tour was versus 2003. At least I had to add a few oldies in the mix…

I’ve never been much fan of “Animositisomina”. I love “Shove” and “The Light Pours Out of Me”, but the rest doesn’t do much for me. I liked “Mole” quite a bit, though. And the band was really tight on that tour.

I’m all about “Leper” and “Impossible”, really…

Piss still holds fond memories for me. And Animosity is a great opener. Honorable mention to the alt mix of Unsung.

EDIT: What was TKK like on this tour. I know they had just put out their best of and the self titled comp with the WaxTrax singles and some other rare trax. Was their setlist hella old school?

I hung out with Al and the the gang on his bus until their set and never saw the openers.

The common report that I heard most often though was that Hanzel und Gretyl were amazing and TKK sucked.

Frankie kind of creeped me out when he came on the bus. He looked a lot like that guy (Ted Levine, I think?) from Silence of the Lambs (Buffalo Bill) — “It puts the lotion on it’s skin, or else it gets the hose again!”

I’ve never seen Silence Of The Lambs all the way thru so I unfortunately don’t get the reference. I’ve also heard TKK sucked on that tour. Someone on here said they were way better at Retrospectacle. Was Frankie going bald back then? I’ve noticed a bit of a receding hairline on the Retrospectacle clips.

I’ve seen TKK several times, and they kept getting worse and worse - the Houses tour was their nadir.
I’ve heard Frankie’s cleaned up his act and the band’s improved as a result.

I like the album. Second ministry album I ever heard too. At first I was iffy. I started on TMIATTT so it had big shoes to fill. Grew on me after awhile though. Leper is amazing.

I looked up “Leper” on YouTube as I couldn’t recall how it went. I do like that song too, and noticed a few others that I was okay with. I’m gonna try to revisit this album this weekend. It might be time for me to try getting reacquainted.

Animositisomina - last great Ministry record IMO

Animositisomina - last great Ministry record IMO

Good in my opinion, but a bit to trebly for me …all time for me would be darkside and land of miel …those two encompass the entire story.

My alltime favs will always be Filth Pig and Dark Side. After that anything pre Psalm. Then Animosity on (in that order). Psalm is by far their best and worst material ever. Too ‘polished’ I guess. My least favorite. Not that I hate it. Just tired of it.

psalm had great stuff too - corrosion, grace, hero, just one fix…- its like a nice mix of the icing, but dark and filth went underneath and there was the true beauty.

I don’t disagree with that.

But…

Treble aside, it was a great mix of both Dark Side (the weird and the unknown) and Houses (the heavy and anthemic)

Back on topic. I was at the HoB-Orlando show on Halloween 2004. I’m sure the ticket stub is somewhere in my house. Set list is the same as published in the archive, it varies slightly from the other dates. I have the black, long-sleeve t. The Orlando poster is the nun crying in colors of orange and purple by Jeral Tidwell, signed and numbered limited edition.

The crowd was aghast at HuG’s choice of attire, even on Halloween.
