2 Grand to see Al Rehearse

How much to see Al take a dump?

Depends on the venue . . .

A new high in low…

I think they worded that vaguely. I saw Sin talking about it yesterday. The rehearsal is IN Los Angeles. It’s not supposed to be implying that the rehearsal itself is excluded (though I would recommend anyone buying this “perk” to get everything in writing).

Packages like this, while extremely pricey, don’t really phase me. They make it exclusive to a small select number of people who really REALLY want such a “unique” experience. It’s some of the smaller filler perks that crack me up, actually. Specifically . . . $75 to have Al “follow” you on Twitter for a year. Haha!

I’d rather pay $75 to have him puke on me in the Super 8 motel restroom.

To be fair, this is a reward perk if you choose to support The Bridge The Movie. A good chunk of the $2,000 would go to back to movie (hopefully).

I wouldn’t even count on Al being present at every Ministry rehearsal.

Ministry rehearsal.

Gunnar, Does your Oregon friend know about this? did he just drop 2Gs on this?

I don’t think he ponied up the 2g’s, but yeah, he’s aware. He is flying down to rock out with us again, so the possibility of him buying that “perk” is certainly there.

If I went I would have to show up in an unacceptably stupid hat.

Well I guess it is a free market after all, if someone feels that $2k is a worthy price for this opportunity, and it gives their life some meaning by participating, I have no problem with it so long as the buyer actually gets what is being advertised (as opposed to, say, a random piece of chain link fence that may or may not be from a past Ministry tour.)

At this point in Al’s career, though, he needs to make some more gestures to repair the damage done to his long-term fanbase.

By comparison, I thought the Chicago Blackhawks took a good approach to the fact that they had alienated a lot of their hardcore fans during the 2012-2013 National Hockey League work stoppage / lockout. Although they still had the pricey “hang out with the team” events that they always had in past seasons, they also underwent a pretty ambitious apology campaign in which they sent free autographed jerseys, sticks, pucks etc. to most people who simply expressed their interest in such a thing. I got a nice functional hockey stick out of it, and was simply pleased by the fact that they took the time to even acknowledge there was a problem, and had marathon sessions of autographing etc. when they could have been doing something far more entertaining.

Of course Al doesn’t have even a hint of the $$$ that an organization like the Blackhawks has…but maybe he could take some of the money he gets from these rehearsals and funnel it into a giveaway of some kind.

It was mentioned that this is just for funding the project and not an actual money maker for those involved, but the message gets a little muddled when Al’s promo bit has him saying “send us your money so I can get booze and cigarettes!!!”

The last thing I’d trust is that Jourgensen is going to do exactly as he says. Unless there is an absolute guarantee that Al is going to show and actually rehearse for more than about 30 seconds, there is no chance that this should even be considered.

You’re far more likely to meet Sin, get a beanie, and 3 crumpled stickers for your trouble.
