Brody was brought in to tour for DSOTS but didn’t actually play on the album.
If I remember correctly, Al said in an interview that the sax on that album is a combination of samples and real sax and that the stuff that sounds like a real sax is played on a sampler, and the stuff that “sounds like a chicken getting fucked” was him on an actual sax. (Or something like that - I think it was a chicken he mentioned.)
Imagine… getting best songs from DSOTS, Animositisomina and Filthpig, and chucking them on the one album.
Now, THERE’S an idea. [:)]
That would be the definition of sex
I thought I read somewhere that the sax samples were from Paul Barker’s brother…Roland is it? My guess is that they layered recordings of someone noodling on a sax that they had prior with some live takes recorded specifically for the album in songs like “Nursing Home” and “10/10”. It certainly sounds that way.
Somehow I doubt “10/10” is a date or a reference to Jim Nash’s death. I don’t know why. It certainly isn’t a melancholy song like, say, “Kaif”…

And said album is three discs long.
