Another crazy work story happened on 1 Feb. 2003. I was at the runway that morning as an employee landing guest. The events of that day and the image of the family and their friends are burned in my memory forever. [:(]
I had worked in the simulator with the pilot on his first flight, also my first flight. The Israeli had sat at the desk behind me in my grad school remote sensing class. I remember their personalities and their excitement.
Additionally, I attended the funeral that was held on the end of the runway, and I was also able to go in the hanger and view the reconstruction many months later. (shivers)

We threw dead bodies overboard a couple of times… burials at sea. One time the casket didn’t sink. It floated like a boat. So, they got out the 50 cal and shot holes in it til it sunk. What a way to go!
I now know how I want to be buried. I’m going to put this in my will.
