With Sympathy - 40th Anniversary Thread

Not to mention A PIC OF PAUL AT THE W/S SESSIONS SITTING ON A BAR STOOL LEGS CROSSED, CIGARETTE IN ONE HAND THE OTHER HAND POINTING AT “AL” SAYING WHATEVER HE WAS SAYING.
WAS HE CONTRIBUTING?
WAS HE JUST HANGING OUT?
WAS HE SUPPLYING “WHATEVER”?
HE WAS THERE, THAT’S FOR CERTAIN.
I CAN’T BE ANYMORE CLEAR THAN THAT.

C L I C K C L I C K BABIES!!!

And you’re positive it wasn’t the 83/84 Blackouts sessions?

Here is the 300 block of Newbury Street in Boston (former home of Syncro Sound studios)

When did the studio close?

December 1986 according to Billboard Magazine and Wikipedia. I think The Cars broke up and/or stopped recording not long after.

Ministry is one of the few bands (if not the only) where you can find a synth pop album in the Metal section of a record store (Newbury Comics).

I have a few Newbury Comics limited color vinyl records - no Ministry though.

I don’t play WS much but I love the live versions from the period and all these less glossy outtakes from the period are brilliant

My friend remembers hearing i wanted to tell her on Radio City (Liverpool,UK) in 83
He was DJing in clubs and he went out and bought the 12” on the back of that

The closest I’ve come to hearing Ministry on the radio is the radio panel show heresy on radio 4 that used Beers Steers & Queers as its theme song
If you’re British and you know what Radio 4 is you’ll know how funny it is to hear BSQ coming off the back of the 6 o’clock news

I finally found a reasonably priced copy of the 2012 remastered With Sympathy with the bonus tracks! I’ve been hunting for a while and pretty much gave up!
