It’s funny how this happens a few days after I stopped abusing ativan for the majority of a week. I had a fun manic episode that ended badly last friday probably bc of withdrawl from this shit. I was poppin 5 at a time. Realizing yesterday that if I had anymore ativan I’d be in the hospital or dead is a bit of a wake up call for me and her death just happens to happen right in the middle of all of this. Sad story. My post only relates to this bc of the fact that she was on perscription meds. Police believe that too much xanex caused her to pass out and drown in the tub. Don’t matter if it’s xanex or ativan, you gotta be careful with perscrips.

I guess what I am trying to say is that there are two sides to this story: One, that a talented actress fell into a downward spiral of dope and depression and Two, that a inspiration to black women across the nation smoked and shit. But she’s still an inspiraion? I can seriously see the flaws in both these arguments. Sure, she’s coloured and that has nothing to do with it. But she grew up around those people and she knew their culture and took it as a part of her own. Whether she sells her body or does dope or sings gospel - she takes in what she can.
I knew that she grew up around Hollywood royalty and it’s no surprise. I could see that coming a mile off. I have read up quite a bit on the subject and the answers seem vague and all too familiar. So her “death” is both a tragedy and a condition of conforming to a stereotype. I guess that’s what I should have stressed earlier. She’s fucked up. The same could have been said about both Oprah Winfrey and Whoopi Goldberg - but we’re not there yet. The question is - do we wait? I mean, they’re all “inspirations” right?
I’m guessing this whole mess has set race relations in America back some years. A sorry and sad state. And guess who we have in the White House?

She was a singer loved by millions of people across all races. She died (presumably) as a result of abusing drugs and/or alcohol.
She wasn’t a political figure.
